1158/2205. Got it from Zachys auction, such a disappointment. The wine is clearly cooked, didn't improve. Has none of Liger Belair's signature nose, I wonder if it's a storage problem or just fake?

The Liger Belair Reignots 2010 was more complex and structured. A GC feel for sure and initiallly a little introvert. With time this also opened up and had real depth. But never developed the playful elegance of the Petit Monts. Would give this a couple of more years.

Medium ruby red with rim variation. Blackberries, dried black cherries, licorice, asian spicies. Great structure & balance, smooth tannin, long finish, nice acidity. - My first comte-liger-belair wine.

1499/2205 A very accessible bottle. Orange ruby color. More purple than red fruits, strong Vosne spice, mineral, brick, and little leather. High concentration, it's lean at the beginning but after 30mins, its more relax and fully opened. High acidity. Perfume aroma. Tasted some vegetal juice at the end. It's very elegant, can age but highly doubt its potential for long time aging.

This came out late at night as nightcap after a perfect La Romanee 12. Should have listened to the sommelier and had a different vintage (07 and 09 had the night before showed much better). Bottle number 1453/2205 - this is certainly a great wine but one of the rare wines from Louis Michel that do not immediately gratify. 13.5 pct alcohol and the contrast between this 10 and the 07 couldn’t be bigger (the latter at 12.5 alcohol). The 10 is a massive wine which shows five spice and dark fruit but at present I missed the floral, weighless and hedonistic side I have found in other vintages of this fantastic vineyard. So probably a great wine further down the line by my personal preference are for the other vintages here surprisingly.

Fin lengde. Drikk nå.

Really singing, a vibrant wine, that hits the Pinot-nerve at once - and of course gets better with air. It is full, rich, yet balanced and precise, Vosne really speaks here - thank you CP for bringing this. #X-pensive winos goes Cab

The wines of Comtes Liger-Belair are the most fabulous surprise that I have had in recent years in Burgundy context. The quality is high in all levels, since the "village" Clos du Chateau. The reignots is great, and the 2010 is even better. The nose is typical vosne, spicy, a touch of gingerbread, red fruit and earth, all in perfect harmony. The palate is complex, even in the early stage of maturity. The acidity and the fine tannins are so refined that allow you to try one now. But the future will be glorious with a giant potential (95-97)

Dinner at Ma Cuisine (Beaune): Decanted approx an hour before serving. Served alongside 2012 Petits Monts. Dark, brooding start showing huge mostly black fruit. Powerful, dense black cherry and berry with Asian five spice throughout. Backward today, this wine kept teasing us with displays of greatness to come.

France 2013 - Côte d'Or; 4/20/2013-4/23/2013 (Beaune): Tasted at the Domaine. From half bottle. Great nose, pure raspberry and cherry fruit. Spice and perfume also present themselves on the complex and intriguing nose. The palate is so soft and silky yet has great precision and acidity. This is really a great wine with a lot of upside. Give a decade or two. Outstanding. 93+

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Metropolitan Pavilion - New York NY): Tasting. Mostly black fruit aromas and flavors, some red cherry in background with good spice. Great power and density start-to-finish with firm but elegant tannins. Needs at least a decade in the cellar. Great potential, I found this a real step up from the Suchots just tasted.

La Paulée de New York 2013 Grand Tasting (Metropolitan Pavilion, New York): Lost my notes on the Liger-Belair wines, but I wasn’t bowled over by the lineup (the 2010 Brulees from the Verticals was stunning). The Reignots was clearly showing some reduction, and the Suchots was quite nice. I need to taste more from this producer.

Sweet red and black very aromatic fruit. Lovely structure and balance. A great grip and it gives a a very luxury feeling. Velvet in the mouth and it is also very transparent. It has all the components I like in a nice Burgundy.

Beautiful nose. Rich and dense palate still early in its development with the fruit nicely balanced by soil and smoke tones

Vosne Millésime - Noblesse des Clos Vougeot - Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Château du Clos de Vougeot): Tasting. Exceptional perfumed start with red cherry, black cherry and boysenberry aromas, supported by baking spice and dark chocolate. Big firm fruit on palate with lots of elegant tannins and layering minerality. Long and precise finish. This is an excellent 1er with 93-95 point potential for me today.
