This is a beautiful blend of dark red fruits. Each sip left me wanting another, which was a testimate to the fruit, the smoothness, and the perfect level of tannins. It was a little sweeter than I was expecting, but it was still a deliious wine.

Dark red color and very ripe berry notes with a strong note of port and not overly oaky, the wine is somewhat balanced. Definate RS and slightly tannic, it is very smooth and easy to drink despite 14.5% alcohol. Not really a great value at close $20, it still is a decent semisweet red.

Deep dark staining purple. Really staining the glass here! Big clumsy nose full of overripe blueberry, strawberry, and sugary flowers. Scents marking cabernet in the blend also come through. On the palate it is very juicy, warm and heavy. All the fruit clashes with bell pepper. Smoke and leather fight to be sensed, but they cannot rebalance this weak impersonation of port. Cooling it down doesn't tighten it up properly or contain the gangly sweetness. And the tannin backbone isn't likely to support aging. A reasonable degree of effort appears to have been misspent. (And I'm surprised to have to say this, because I enjoy the white counterpart very much.) However, if you get stuck with an impression similar to mine along with a substantial amount remaining, this red can be the starting point for a nice sangria.

Deep beautiful ruby with loads of purple. Really staining the glass here! Great nose: floral, loads of ripe dark berry, blue berry too. On the palate, this is juicy, warm and fully body. Bright fruit, blue berry, cherry, carmel. Loaded with juicy ripe fruit juice. Dripping with juiciness. I'm sure technical tasters will find it fruit bombed, not varietal specific, inflated for something else. But for me, this thing is fun in a bottle.

Lots of red fruit up front. Interwoven bright and bold cherries and a little plum , soft tannins and a tiny hint of sweetness gives it a memorable finish. Smooth and round.

It has fantastic, blowing away flavor. After opening the bottle flavor has cloudy, almost palpable intensity, with perfume concentration and quality. It was too sharp and strong and powerful for anything I associate with wine, but it was very pleasant, almost addictive. Only next day it start resembling usual wines - a class of fruit bomb. Sweet blackberry, cassis, grape, very concentrated. Pleasant acidity, taste like a fruit punch - but a very good one. Not a lot of body. Not my style of wine, but it is extraordinary.

Intensely dark, like a Petite Sirah. Not a lot on the nose - spicy oak, blueberry jam, and leather. Medium bodied, highly extracted cranberries and cherries, baking spices, dusty tannins, soy sauce, and a puckering finish. Well made for the mass market product it is, but ultimately not for me. Probably a great wine to take to a party, which I think I'll do with my other bottle.

Giant Wine Sale & Tasting Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC 2/23/2013 (Cellar on Greene, Columbia, SC): If you like assertive, fruit forward, all the grapes can give you, California red wine at it's pinnacle of expression, this wine is for you. Even if you don't appreciate that style, you need to try a taste of this to see what the other side is creating. This wine is so pure in presenting red fruit, you almost feel like you are biting into something just picked. They used modern wine making processes to bring us as much raw, fresh fruit as possible, and it is greatly appreciated. This is not for everyone, and there are scores all across the wine reviewing spectrum. The color is lip and glass staining purple. The nose is fresh floral and just picked red fruit. The fruit explodes across the plate, and never slows down, much less quits. One of those wines that is so in balance, it tastes a little sweet, but probably is totally dry. The acid, oak and tannins, are doing their thing so well, we almost cannot pick them out. The finish is blackberry preserves with all kinds of little secondary stuff like wet leather, red licorice, and graphite, all working together.

Very fruit forward. Aroma of plum, blueberries and cinnamon. Taste is similar with mild tannin. I drank this with dinosaur kale/ almonds and roasted spicey cauliflower. It paired well.

For me this was a very sweet red wine, has some character. I don't think cellaring for any period of time will help this young blend. I do love the color. I reccomend this wine for novice/beginner red wine drinkers interested in entering the red wine world.

We're big Caymus fans. Last year we even put on board a case of Caymus for our sailing charter in BVI. When I saw the availability of a red version of Conundrum I picked up a bottle and we enjoyed is almost as much as the Caymus version. We then bought 4 cases, one of which is already gone as I write this note.

Not a very good wine even if you like one dimensional fruit-foward style. Nose is loaded with blueberry jam and Mylar, like the stuff you get in survival rations. In the mouth it's more fruit and more fruit with a strange plastic after taste. Finishes short and awkward.
Even at $15 I would pass on this wine. Having paid $25 I feel ripped off.
Remember you don't drink the label.

Not a surprise that 2010 is the first vintage given the challenges in CA during the summer of 2010. This wine isn't going to last long but if you want a very fruit forward, jammy (almost Shiraz like) cab then this is worth a look. Be warned this is pop and pour only; three hour later I suspect this over exposed wine is on a precipitous slope. 5+12+15+7=89

G & T is right on the mark - the nose and finish were all blueberry jam, intensely so...good crowd pleasing bottle, but QPR just okay. Almost port-like in sweetness and texture. Certainly a Wagner-family wine. Can't see this being a good food pairing wine - but good on its own.

Bright purple color, young, with aromas of mixed berries and plums with oak and floral notes. Flavors of black cherries and blueberries with hints of dark chocolate. Soft tannis and light bodied, this is a very enjoyable picnic wine, or for service with lighter meals or appetizers. Benefits from 30 minutes of decanting.

Gobs of blueberry pop-tart and not much else. Fortunately, not a rough edge anywhere to be found. It'd be nice if it was a the $11 pricepoint, but $18 is bit much ...
