Wonderful offering from Iron Horse! Brut X is dry, clean, and mineral driven, with medium, vigorous bubbles. Lemon scent and taste add brightness, but aren't overpowering. Lovely, dry finish of medium length.

Clear, light lemon with a hint of green. It has vigorous, large bubbles. The nose is clean, medium (-) in intensity. The palate is bone dry, with medium alcohol and medium (-) smoothness. The acidity is pronounced, and the minerality is medium. Overall, this is a medium (-) bodied sparkler, which is moderately balanced but skewed slightly towards hardness. It is very clean, with a moderate flavor intensity and a medium long finish. Drink now, not intended for further bottle ageing. Good as an aperitif or paired with shellfish or triple cream cheeses.

This is a very dry, mineral-driven Champagne with moderate notes of yeast. Relatively good balance considering the low sugar, but not quite the quality and complexity that I am looking for at $50 plus. I really like Iron Horse wines, but this one did not stand out for me compared to some of their other offerings.

Always my favorite Iron Horse. Is "awesome" a good wine descriptor? I always enjoy Brut X as an aperitif. Crisp, clean, delicious. I could drink a gallon of this stuff. Seriously.

Sonoma Wine Tasting & San Francisco - March 2012; 3/22/2012-3/27/2012: The first sparkling wine of the trip, and it was a really impressive one. Very pale straw color, almost translucent. Very yeasty nose, with lemon-lime and minerals. Razor sharp palate, very focused. Sea shell, salt and lime zest flavors streak across an extremely dry palate. You could've fooled me that this was Champagne. I was begging for oysters with this sparkler. Zeke really loved this as well.
