Leiden Clape Cornas tasting March 2013 (Leiden, The Netherlands): Hermitage like nose, bacon, a bit watery and rusty. Lovely red fruit taste, smokey, some bacon tones, lovely finish. An hour after opening the taste improves with the fruit intensity increasing and becoming velvety.

Dried red cherries, musty, slatey, light spice, some eucalyptus. Thins on the palate but a solidly pleasurable wine. Consumed with comte souffle.
