Delicious West Coast Pinot that is drinking perfectly in magnum. Lots of red fruit sweetness combined with medium body and good transparency. These guys do a great job crafting balanced, age worthy wines that are true to their origin at a decent tariff. Well done. Bought at winery. (91)

Still quite youthful, although the structure is quite accessible. Strawberry, cola, cherries and baking spices. Not the most layered Pinot, but just "yummy". This was finished off pretty quicky, helped by the balance and low alcohol.

A delicious wine from Anthill. Slightly cloudy, light ruby color. The nose is bursting with bright cherry fruit and flowers. Light weight, lovely depth and real complexity. This is impressive. (91)

Holiday Parties 2019 (Dogwood Grove, Arlington, VA): Fragrant with an inviting nose of raspberries, crushed rocks, and subtle background forest notes. Medium-bodied but more flavorful that I expected given the naturalist reputation of the makers – tasted more fruit than rocks, which was a good thing on this day.

Lightly colored. Cranberry and tart cherry notes. Definitely on the lighter bodied side of California Pinot. Crisp, almost crystalline in character- this still has a nice lively level of energy. Well priced for its quality.

Medium ruby red center with slight orange tint. On the nose, there is pure red fruit initially with a touch of earth with air. The palate is where this wine seems to struggle to deliver. Upon entry, tart cranberry puts a chokehold on the palate. There is an undercurrent of cherry and earth as well. The acidity is high and refreshing in this light-bodied wine. Unsurprisingly, this wine needs food to temper the tart profile and offset the wine’s acidity. Overall, this was not my favorite wine from Anthill Farms because it was so tart and seemed underripe, but it did show better with food because of the high acidity.

Seems to have picked up some weight from the last bottle, still far from a bruiser, but maybe some secondary development has kicked in, giving it more earthy notes. Lasted 4 days re-corked in the fridge as well, so has potential to age a bit more.

Wow, drank this the night after a RRV pinot from Arista and the two could not be any more different. This was light bodied, strawberry and cranberry, lots of acid, a bit more refreshing.

This wine just wanted to be my lover girl. Fresh red cherry, cranberry and strawberry flavors contain a pleasant bite and crispness. Light stem and spic mingles afterward. With weightlessness and beautiful purity, this wine takes to the sky on a natural high. From the moment I pulled the cork, it just wanted to rock my world. Ooh la la la.

Still has pretty intense pure strawberry and raspberry flavors with a savoryness that adds a lot of interest. Tingly acidity with medium to long finish. Drinking great now but could go significantly longer.

Dark garnet color. Breathed in glasses around an hour before serving. Anthill Pinots show whole cluster spice & an approachability that is always refreshing. Beautiful balance of spiced red fruit, bright acid & supple tannin. Medium bodied & wonderfully fresh with bright acidity adding textural notes. High toned berries lead to tart cherry accented with tea-like aromatics. Hauntingly complex.
Finessed & driven as much by the structure as it is the fruit creating excellent tension on the palate. The definition & character shown in these different vineyards are evidence of the work here as the finished wines articulate a specific vision of Pinot Noir in California. There is fruit driving the wine, but there are so many other aspects to these wines defining both house style and terroir. I love what they do.

1st bottle of the 2010 for me. quite tight first night. not showing much and came across as muted and somewhat thin. 2nd night more pronounced fruit, vivacity, and an nice nervy energy to the ripe berry fruit. nicely balanced. not over blown, but for the fruit lovers.

This seemed a bit hollow and simple the first night, but the half bottle or so that was left over was much better the next night. Pure, bright red fruit, good acidity, spicy. Not sure if it needs some more age or just a good decant.

The best Tina Marie I've had. While I've been a bit underwhelmed with past vintages, finding the fruit a bit overt and sometimes a tad cloying, this was full of fresh and elegant red fruit, with good acidity and energy. An excellent accompaniment to the duck breasts with a port/cherry sauce.

I have been meaning to try an Anthill wine for a while and I definitely waited too long. This is about as Burgundian as Cali wines get. A dead ringer for a young Gevrey, this is is superbly balanced and fresh. Savory palate with red beets, tomato and red cherry on the palate. Long, mouth-watering finish. Need to get more.

Light purple color throughout. The nose is dark-fruited with some spicy undertones. On the palate, this wine is still primary with tart plum initially. The acidity seems elevated and slightly unbalanced right now. The finish is moderate with tart fruit and screechy acidity. Overall, this wine is not in a good place right now and seems out of balance with the acidity overtaking the fruit. Needs time to resolve itself. Much better on day 3, it was filled with red raspberry and tart cherry, but there was. Mineral streak running through it as well. Probably a 90 in the end with a long life ahead.

Super young+tight were my first impressions. An hour in the decanter made me realize this guy has a great future. Forest floor, red berries, some additional soil-driven components and a fantastic streak of acidity made this very fresh and light (almost beaujolais-like). This is great now (excellent with food) and probably has a solid 8-10 years ahead of it easily. 1-2 points of upside.

Stunning aromas of cool red berries, topsoil, fresh mint, and rose petal florals. The palate is intense but beautifully elegant, with interwoven brambly red fruit, earth, and violets overlying crushed gravel and delicate acidity. Delicious dried berries, cedar, chalk, and green herbs linger on the lengthy finish. Though this is fantastic now, there is a sense of underlying tension that bodes well for the cellar. Will check on the next one in five years. R&M 91

Tasted on a couple of occasions since its release, this bottle gave the best showing to date. The aromatics show a wonderful mix of red fruits that include strawberry, cherry and cranberry that mingle with variety of spice notes. The bouquet displays detail and nuance. The color is a somewhat tarnished but youthful medium ruby. The medium bodied palate shows excellent overall balance and the youthful fruit combines nicely with the tannins and acidity on the finish. Drinking well now, this wine gives the impression it will benefit from an additional year or two of bottle age.

A bit of a citrus blossom topnote on the nose, from the stems - reminds me a bit of some Rhys wines on the nose, and Anthony F. says he could see a similarity to Rhys' old Alesia Falstaff bottling. Structured and full on the palate. Balanced with a really nice juiciness. Smooth, pretty, good acidity. 91-92
