At Maxill in Helsinki. Mineral, citrus and apple aromas on the nose. Likewise flavors on the palate with a slightly sweet touch. Quite lean and gentle acidity. Decent basic riesling. Paired rather nicely with the perch dish.

My experience with Rheingau is that under 15-20 EUR it's difficult to find really satisfying rieslings there.
Now this was 9 EUR. It is the base wine from the excellent, well-renowned Vollrads from a good year and... well, it's okay, there's nothing to be upset about, but it just lacks excitement and depth.
For this money one gets more quality from Mosel and Nahe, and Pfalz as well (e.g. Bürklin-Wolf's rock-solid 2011 base riesling).
So, for Rheingau, I'll continue going for the Gewächses, Spätleses and so on.
