The cork was really soft it made me pause because it seems whenever a cork is this soft the wine ends up being tainted. No such problem tonight, bullet dodged. It's been three years since the last time I tasted this and it has really developed. The initial pour had cat pee on the nose but that blew off pretty quickly and then gave the impression of a stainless Chardonnay with some lemon and loads of limestone minerality. The mid-palate was round and a bit heavy but then the acidity kicked in along with some citrus zest and it blossomed. The sharp, slightly bitter finish was accented by a hint of tannins. This wine has a ton going on for the low $17.50 price tag. Wish I could get my hands on a case of it. Big thumbs up!

I kept cool and it drank very nicely, keeping the more brooding tones at bay and helped to balance an otherwise reticent acidity. I thought it a fantastic QPR wine....

Consumed over 2 days, note from day 2. Nose: Medium-plus expressiveness, caramel apple, lemon, and pear. Palate: Medium bodied, somewhat creamy and dense texture in the mouth, tart tropical fruit attack, big acidic backbone, mineral and earthy components appear mid-palate and and remain prominent into the back-end. Finish: Medium-plus length of tart tropical fruit and minerals. By day 2 the fruit has dissipated noticeably versus day 1, still interesting and enjoyable though. Probably would have scored a point higher yesterday. (89-90)

Very nice light golden yellow in the glass. Very exotic nose of lemon, tropical fruits, lychee and pears. The palate has great poise and balance. Wonderful acidity to balance it out. Could age for much longer.

A better bottle than our last. Nice nose of tropical fruit and white flowers. The palate is medium to full bodied and initially lush with ripe pineapple and orange citrus. Adequate acidity and slate minerals lend a bit of cut to the orchard fruit finish. Rather enjoyable, and would do well with those who enjoy riper fruit flavors.

Always enjoy the Bedrock whites. This is a great blend that has nothing to do with a 'typical' California white wine. Florality is abundant on the nose with a atypical range of fruit that I can't quite put my finger on. Viscosity is high with a long finish. Nice acidity as a backbone. Fun wine.....

Popped and poured, tasted over 3 nights. Light yellow hue. Pleasant, somewhat refrained aromas of stone fruits, tangerine zest, honeysuckle, and minerals with subtle herbaceous undertones. Light to medium-light body with moderate acidity. The flavors in mouth are largely similar to what's presented aromatically, albeit one exception being a strange, off-putting volatile characteristic (almost like you'd find in watered-down scotch). However, after 24+ hours of being open, the disparate elements smooth over to leave refined flavors almost akin to a white originating from the Northern Rhone, with somewhat blowzy fruit buoyed by an impression of minerals and acidity. Deceptive length on the close. An intriguing white, and one which needs aeration or another 12 months in the cellar...if anything, day 3 certainly seems to indicate that this should only get better with short term cellaring.

Rather lush nose of sweet citrus, orchard fruit, honeysuckle, cinnamon. Rather dichotomous palate of initial candied citrus and ripe pears with cucumber, minerals, and tart citrus. The finish has a bit of freshener with slate, as well as an semi prominent alcohol component. This has nice body and weight, but the flavors seem somewhat thin. Perhaps some more time in the cellar will improve this wine. R&M 85

Light golden color. Aromas of white fruit and citrus on the nose, with follow through in the glass. Both big and dense, yet crisp, showing depth on the palate and length on the finish. Muscadelle, Chasselas, Zinfandel, Semillon, and Chardonnay. Delicious, yet impossible to characterize.

Similar to my notes from my last bottle. Both the nose and palate are very floral, along with rocks/minerals and a distinct white vinyl eraser. A hint of apple/citrus fruit round it out. The aciditiy wasn't as prevalent this time. I still enjoy the nose more than the palate but this is well made and pleasant to drink.

Similar body and taste to other Bedrock wines I've tasted, both in red and white-- not necessarily a good comment. That being said, this wine has a nice minerality on the nose, as well as a floral approach (which I love all around). A thick mouth feel which is appealing with the cutting stone notes. Pollen and straw notes follow on the finish. Enjoyable especially with fish.

This had all the fruits and minerality included in the other notes. Not what I would consider an acid driven wine, but not flabby either. I enjoyed it without reservation. Wifer preferred it when it was cool.

A very neutral white, with pear, starfruit, and mineral notes in the aromas and flavors. As the wine warms, it becomes more tropical in tone. Nice with Indian food, seafood, herbs.

The wine is a bright yellow/straw color. A very intriguing nose with apples, pears, peach, minerals, white pepper, citrus zest, a very nice floral note and just a bit of an herbal note. Medium body with crisp acidity and just a hint of lingering sweetness. This has luscious, juicy fruit on the palate with citrus, herbal notes and a bit of white pepper in the background. This very unusual blend is very unique and delicious. Another winning white wine from Bedrock.

That's a lot of verve and minerality in that glass. Nose of lime, grapefruit and slate, while the palate leads with minerals, followed by racy acids, citrus pith and finishing with stones and a glimmer of honey.

Solid white. Not too sweet, not too tart or bitter. Interesting mix of Reisling-like minerally oiliness and light-butter of chardonnay on the nose. Lightly tart and semisweet on the front of the tongue but finishes mild and smooth on the back end. Very solid summer white. Shoulda bought more.

I wish I had more. A great wine to serve with smoked/grilled fish. Enough fruit to stand up to stronger flavors, the texture and mouthfeel really make this wine stand out. Others have described it as oiliness - to me it has more weight without being heavy. I'm all in on the next offering

Very interesting and unusual wine. Tropical nose of citrus (lemon/grapefruit), pineapple, and a little peach. On the palate, it was highly acidic and very floral. If I'd been blindfolded, I would have guessed that the smell and taste were from two different wines. It was like a bait-and-switch, but not in an unpleasant way. That's what struck me as unusual: I've never had a wine that was so divergent in aroma and flavor. I certainly liked both components, but they never seemed to gel. There's a bit of heaviness to the wine (probably what others are referring to as waxy/oily), but I thought it was nicely balanced by the acid. In the mouth it's all grass/flowers and rocks/mineral, didn't really detect much fruit. Finish has decent length and overall this was a refreshing wine to have on a hot day.

Brought to an offline hosted by tylerhi. My notes are pretty much the same as previous bottle (3/25/2012), with the exception that it has now taken on a little more weight and has an oiliness that one might associate with a viognier. Lovely bottle and a hell of a QPR.

I knew reading the back label before opening this was going to be a very interesting white wine. I was not disappointed and neither were my non-white wine lover co-imbibers. Crisp acidity, wet stones, nice bit of tart on the palate along with light citrus waxy fruit. Why did I only get one?

This has an uncanny resemblance to a Rhône white, with the deep, rich orchard fruit and peach pit, along with a rich, viscous mouthfeel, but with good cut. Shows some finishing heat, but it's really a very nice wine.

Quite a distinct white wine. Waxy/oily, yes, but in a subtle, interesting way. Not dry, but not quite sweet, either. Not flabbly, yet I didn't find the acidity others have. I'm not a big white wine drinker, but this really stood out, esp. the finish, which was like tasting cool, wet stones, with a smooth, clean palate of light citrus and a whiff of peaches. Guess you can tell I really liked this one. :)

13.8% ABV. Light copper-gold in the glass. Waxy fruit nose with a subtle floral note. A bit vague. Medium-bodied with a crisp, mineral-driven palate followed by green apple fruit. Somewhat savory. OK.

Pale yellow gold colour. Nose shows peach, pineapple and a faint hint of coconut and minerals. Pretty big palate of lemon curd, minerals, some oregano and a touch of grapefruit. Fairly big, slightly oily mouthfeel. Decent acidity, shortish finish. A tasty and fairly unique wine to my palate - closest comparison is definitely white Rhone.

If you're looking for anything wtih butter or oak, look elsewhere. This is a very nice example of a wine that exudes the terroir from which the fruit was grown. Very crisp, slight lemon zest, may some other citrus and lots of slate and wet rocks, like thoe just pulled from a little babling brook about 2 inches deep. Very smooth drinking, nice acidity, medium finish. Went very well with sushi and excited to have another couple of bottles.

Super esoteric and interesting wine. Wasn't showing much until it warmed up a bit and then it really showed its true colors (i.e. don't serve this too cold). Oily texture like a white Rhone, some herbal notes. Good acidity prevents this from being flabby. Overall, quite solid although I think Morgan's reds are much better than his whites. Curious to try subsequent vintages if this continues to be made.

Pulled from the fridge on a 90º+ day and kept on ice. Pale gold color. Nose of green apple, grapefruit, and flowers. Light on the palate, starting with green apple and citrus, followed by a waxy, oily honey reminiscent of Rousanne, but finishes with crushed rocks and citrus acidity, light and crisp. Interesting and unique wine, and excellent on a hot day with grilled fish.

Lemon, pear and grapefruit on the nose along with some crushed rock mineral aroma. The palate shifts to richer stone fruit and lemon cream but finishes off with lots of minerality and a rush of acidity. Did not go deep enough on this wine, went wide on the release and wish I ordered more than the two bottles I have. Killer QPR!

This one was a fun rollercoaster ride of aromas and flavors. Upon pop and pour, this offered ginger ale, lemon, saline and spice on the nose. The palate mirrored those flavors at first and then revealed tangerine, slate, spearmint with a dash of salt and white pepper after a few hours of aeration. The acidity didn’t push this white into crisp territory but was certainly present enough to round out this very enjoyable and unique wine.

Sorry to pile on the 'unique' theme, but this is not a white that fits any mold. Herby, orchard fruit and a strange, but appealing, earthy, rubber eraser undertone. Lean palate with loads of mineral, tame but very noticeable acidity and interesting flavors. Not really complex, though expressive for sure. Was great with salad and paired well with a rich blue marlin dish before switching to a more texturally interesting wine. Can imagine lots of uses for this throughout the summer.

This wine defines minerality. Tons of wet rocks, slate and pencil eraser with just a hint of lemon and apricot on the nose. Very aromatic. Slate/rock also come through up front on the palate, which isn't as intense as the nose. Moderate acidity with tart green apple and lemon in addition to the minerals. Very terroir driven for a Sonoma wine; I'll be interesting to see where this goes with age.

For me, not up there with the other whites of the spring release, but still solid and unique. Mostly slate and mineral on the nose with citrus in the background. On the palate, not overly fruity or acidic and takes on a Rhone like waxiness on the finish. There are some interesting things going on with this wine (good call on the rubber/eraser note...don't think I would've picked that out on my own) but it just doesn't excite me as much as the Kick Ranch or Abrente.

A wholly unique white wine. I like my whites cold and this goes down smooth in the glass. It has some of the typcial fruit (pear, honeysuckle) and acid notes you expect but there is a edge of almost minerality to the backbone that gives it a very unique profile on the finish.

Initially served too cold, which considerably muted the wine, but as it warmed, it blossomed. The nose hints at a lighter styled wine, with notes of pear, peach and grapefruit. Indeed, the palate entry is light and citric but this expands slowly on the palate to display a deceptive oily richness. A lovely lemon, tangerine and ginger finish, which is moderately long. Not much minerality, but a saline hint adds complexity. Extremely enjoyable and food-friendly. Bedrock is making some wonderful white wines.

Popped and poured with etouffe. Aroma has minerals, with a hint of tartness. The taste is really hard to place, with a bit of grassiness and oak coming through. The finish has a bit of acidity as well. This is a much different white than just about any other white I have had. It doesn't do too much to make a big impression, just kind of an easy drinker. Not too bad of a QPR.

More full-bodied than I was expecting, reminiscent, as the winemaker states in his tasting notes, of a marsanne-rousanne blend. This field blend of semillon, zinfandel, chardonnay (others?) is lush, deep, and a little edgy. Lightly honeyed pear, cantaloupe, dried herbs, and light acidity. Hard to judge this, as it's such an unusual bottling. Not sure how it will evolve, but I'll give the others some time to come together.

Quite a distinct white wine. Waxy/oily, yes, but in a subtle, interesting way. Not dry, but not quite sweet, either. Not flabbly, yet I didn't find the acidity others have. I'm not a big white wine drinker, but this really stood out, esp. the finish, which was like tasting cool, wet stones, with a smooth, clean palate of light citrus and a whiff of peaches. Guess you can tell I really liked this one. :)
