Slightly different experience this go around. The high octane (15.5%) hit me harder. While possessing amplebfruit, the finish, coupling heat and bitter tannins made me think the wine was conceived for the American market, with some thought that it (we) or our wine critiques, may gravitate towards big, hedonistic bombs. I wonder how that came about....

Nice little big boy... All the makings of a great wine from a good vintage, save for a bit of complexity. Can not ask for much more for the fare. Now I'm curious about my Lirac and CdP holdings of the same label...

See previous notes, with one addition. I'm still loving this wine, but this bottle didn't get finished on day 1 and maybe I didn't vinVac it soon enough, but on day 2 it lost a bit of luster. A bit flat and flabby. Not bright and vibrant like it was day 1. Still a great CdR at $12.

Punches above its weight. Restrained black fruits, chocolate, caramel, wood ash, beef bones, oak, buckwheat flour. In a perfect drinking window right now. Short finish is the only thing keeping this one below 90. Definite rebuy from WTSO at $11.99/bottle. Better without food than with. Good choice for a cellar defender.

Very interesting and distinctive wine, with flavors and aromas of toasted Manchego and Mozzarella cheese, and a hint of Bleu cheese (where did those come from?)....I don't know what percentage of Mourvedre this has, but that grape appears to dominate in flavors. I really like this...never had anything quite like it.
This is my first of 4 bottles of this one. Now I wish I had bought more.
Edit: With air, the Syrah comes to the fore, and the wine becomes more fruity and floral. Great QPR on this one.

Interesting. I pulled this without looking at prior tasting notes and was blown away. I had forgotten how good it was. It is a touch better than when tasted 6 months ago. Well balanced/ Fruit driven, but not a bomb. Sadly this is my last bottle.

Very drinkable out of the bottle. Kudos continue to Adissat! Enjoying for lunch with cold disco lamb from a couple nights ago. :) It's an 85 that we're giving an 89 because we paid $12/bottle, and that is a terrific deal making this wine a great value. Fruity, sweetish, fun.

Plums, vanilla, spices, a tang of sourness. Overall a really well-balanced CdR. Quite high in tannin, so not ideal for pairing with fish and so on, but extremely drinkable and excellent QPR.

Showing even better. Great wine, especially for the price. Lovely nose, mouthfeel. Well balanced. Not a fruit bomb (although I do love those). Great wine on it's own or with food. Worth a repurchase.

My favorite inexpensive Rhone. Black cherry, fall spices, great balance... $12. I've shared a few bottles of this with others and always ask people to guess the price. Most guesses are in the $25 to $40 range. And if I spent that on this wine, I wouldn't be disappointed.
It is a steal at $12.

Wait for it...wait for it...bam! After drinking Adissat's CDP I so looked forward to trying their CDR. Served it as second bottle to my best friend, Jerry, and I thought it was meh. Expected more.
Now watching famous golf shots on YouTube and Bonnie and I wanted a second bottle. Same flavor out of the bottle, but now it's an hour later and, wow, it has opened up. What a beautiful surprise, and a good lesson for me.
And, I'll swear, an hour after opening there is a scent I've never smelled in a wine...vanilla cake. Unreal

A notch above typical southern Cote du Rhone. Drank over two nights with the second showing a bit more complexity dominated by plums and graphite. Better second and probably will improve for another year.

Some negative tasting notes here, but the bottle we had was very good. Have a few more bottles and will be interesting to see how they fare over the next year or two.

We had this wine at Thanksgiving after a beaujolais nouveau. The 15.5% alcohol makes this a big wine with strong rustic barnyard flavors. Firm ending and dry heat. Most of our guests did not finish their glass either due to the alcohol content or the barnyard effect.

Okay, maybe I am a little a tipsy as I write this...but this is the best $12 bottle of wine I've had in a month of Sundays.
CdR is almost always a crap shoot, but this one is a certain winner.
Equivalently priced California or Oregon Pinot would yield sewer water. This is fan-tastic vino.

Lively, fresh, light and plush. Very nice Rhone blend. Give it 30-40 minutes to soften the initial glass. Very clean wine. Quite enjoyable.

Still a bit young, however after decanting, nice and tight. Cardamom, blueberry, charcoal, pepper, ironically celery. Could use a few more years.

A good example of a Cote' du Rhone. The 15.5% alcohol obliterated most of the aroma for quite awhile, but the wine hid the high level pretty well.
