This wine was not very good. It did not age very well, even though stored properly. Very unbalanced, strong caramel and pear taste, medium body, and a bitter finish.

A bit overly acidic on the attack, like the Rombauer (in fact they're very similar wines). Creme brulee and lemon on the nose, with peach and citrus on the palate. There's something herbal going on too, which the winemaker says is fennel. Decent length on a finish of oak (31% new, and some American), but a bit sour.

Not flawed, but old and tired.

This wine isn't bad. Not a great qpr at $13 for a half bottle. The colour is golden. The flavour is strong.
