  • A Chambertin evening: wow, very, very dark colour, powerful, Mon Chery cherry, impressing on the palate, fullbodied, very long aftertaste, a delightfull bottle, for me on top now but I think this wine will last a lot more years, ****(-+?), 91- 93+?

  • I called it "unevolved looking" 4 years ago and so it remained tonight. Some ripe black cherry and pine needle with development of secondary aromatics with air. Medium weight, good sappy core and a little bit of spice, but not that complex and certainly without the extra dimension or cut that one expects of a Grand Cru with this amount of bottle age. A pleasant but ultimately simple drink.

  • Shockingly unevolved looking. Pungent, brambly fruit gave way to black cherry essence, Gevrey earth and iron, and a touch of licorice. Ripe fruit, chocolate, and rather full bodied, but remains crisp and focused due to vibrant acids. Not a tad of 1990 overripeness. Youthful, complex, and overall, astonishingly good, much more than I expected of the producer and vintage.

  • Terrific bouquet of strawberries and flowers. Brick red color. Initially, a floral, cherry flavor followed by earthiness and some leathery/barnyard notes. There's also a sweetness that doesn't seem to balance well with the leather aspects. Haven't had this producer before, so I don't know the style or if this was an off bottle, but I didn't really enjoy this as much as I had hoped.
