Disappointingly over-ripe, jammy and borderline baked. It has its moment of enticement in the initial impression after opening, but a little air causes the roasted qualities to emerge, acid to recede if it was ever there, and what's left lacks charm and refinement. Plummy fruit finishes hot. I don't know what the '10 vintage was supposed to be like in Montepulciano, but here it seems it was broiling hot or they left the grapes out too long. This has a somewhat silky texure that I would gladly trade for some sangiovese bite. Could have been made in a factory in the Maremma for all I can tell. Hard to drink and harder to finish.

clear, ruby, perfect colour. nose: very sharp, fresh cherries; with some add of plums; steel notes. taste: quite dense; a lot of animal and liver-pate notes on the plaete; opaque tanins all over the mouth. not well composed. Give it 1 year to develop.

Popped and poured. Herb and cherry aromas. Full flavors of cherries and licorice. Licorice dominates the lingering finish with elements of cocoa appearing over time. Classic sangiovese with a firm tannic structure supporting lovely fruit flavors. There's potential for future development but it's great right now. Outstanding QPR at $15.

nose: nice and savory nose with tones of roasted herbs, dark red cherries, berries and a touch of florals. Nice depth with the savory quality really showing through
taste: medium bodied with medium+ acidity and plush tannins. Nicely balanced with savory tones of roasted herbs, dark red cherries and some berry tones
overall: this is a real quality rosso. The savory-ness of it really shines through and makes it very attractive
