This bottle was good, but definitely showing more age than the last bottle five years ago. It is becoming a darker yellow color. Bruised apple and maybe a little lanolin. We both enjoyed it, but I think I may have liked previous bottles more.

Blind: heck, I don't know... maybe a pinot muenier? it's has a little more weight than I'd expect from a PN. Wrong, this is really good stuff and a great price. Had no idea they did a sparkler from Chenin. The nose had a beef broth aroma, earthy but the palate was clean as can be with lovely yellow fruit, cool stuff.

I drink a lot of Champagne these days and to have this Chenin Blanc in my glass, this wine holds its own. The tension that expresses itself via a chalky, rocky tone in the palate of the wine could fool me for Verzenay or Ambonnay. Lots of green apple here, some gingery/cinnamon note, too. It does have some of the stone fruit and honey of Chenin Blanc, all buttressed by the citrusy, zesty acid that wraps it all together. Clean, precise and no sign of anything that would suggest age or softening of the wine's energy. What a pleasant surprise, one of those wines of 2019 that hits me just right. Awesome stuff.

Like lemon, golden apple, and honey, with a touch of brothy savoriness; nice combination of freshness and rich aged character. Good acidity and stony minerality seem to tie everything together. Versatile with food, and quite enjoyable. Seems to be in a good place for drinking.
Wonderful wine. Long finish. Great Chenin Blanc flavor profile. And as it is expressed sometimes in German, instead of “acidity,” they say “sour-structure.” So much more satisfying than many champagnes.

Pale color. Persistent palate that is bright and flavorful. Doesn’t have quite the grip on the back end as a good Champagne done but this is serious stuff. (89)

I didn't care for this at all - palate was like a mouthful of burned lanolin. Better on day 2, showing apple juice and honey notes, but still not getting much pleasure. An odd bottle as I've enjoyed this previously.

Notes of green apples, orange and some yeast are found on both nose and palate. In the background there are also some liquorice. On the palate we also get a rather citric acidity with grape fruit and lemon and after a while some lime appear. Nice and generous nose and a rather citric palate.

There is something about aged sparklers. Elderberry, citrus, sea foam, almost a botrytis note, a hint of white pepper, great mousse, more complexities on day two and a great celebratory bottle for fathers day.
First taste of vintage sparkling Vouvray to my recollection, and what an experience! Big bubbles, lively, with impressive weight and power, while remaining precise and snappy. If blind, I would probably would have guessed Extra Dry Champagne with 50 percent or more Pinot Meunier.

We were fortunate to taste this wine with Mssr Foreau in his caves. He had specific recommendations for all of his superb wines including the settings and proper foods. For the normal Petillant, he said that it was fine to serve it to a large group in a casual setting. For this wine, he said that one should only drink it with a few close friends. Well he is of course correct and we followed his guidance enjoying this lovely and unique sparkling wine. Very chenin with a very fine sweetness that is perfectly integrated in to yeast, apple and earthy aromas. It comes off as dry. Different from champagne and the character is enthralling.

As expected, this was elegance in a glass. Graceful mousse, lovely balance of fruit and acidity with just a hint of creaminess from the yeast autolysis. Went down easily and quickly, and I wish I had more.

This was very good. Soft, rounded sweet yellow fruit with good cut and toasty richness, finishing dry. Yeastier and with a touch less varietal typicity than I usually find in Huet's petillant. An observation, not a complaint.

Golden yellow. Tart and full bodied. Lots of ripe melon and apple as well honey but the richness is nicely balanced some intense acidity. Really good stuff. Crowd pleaser before dinner.

Dry, high-acid, rock juice. Lime, lime zest, some underripe apple, quinine and a finish that makes you feel like you're sucking on a stone. Not a smooth stone, a porous, craggly one. Really enjoyed this.

Medium yellow, gentle mousse. Redolent of freshly cut apples and yeast. Medium weight with some of that Chenin Blanc glycerine, low dosage, crisp. Very good Loire sparkler.

Really amps it up from the regular Brut, this is loads of baked apple and honey and great breadth and depth on the palate. Very tart and dry despite its richness.

Fantastic stuff, if only I could figure out where I bought it. Chilled for about 2 hours prior to serving. On the nose, tart green apple, hints of melon, apricot blossom, and a chalky minerality. Great acidity on the palate - not a lot of bubbles though - which helps keep the ripe, exuberant fruit in line. The finish is clean and precise. Drinking well now.

Smells like Chenin on the nose, also smells like its going to be blisteringly dry. And while its definitely dry its got great fruit character on the nose. Apparently around 4 grams of dosage.

Monthly tasting club LTC; Loire Valley, Vouvray (@ MvG): Fine bubbles. A lot of yeast in the bouquet. On the palate chalky minerals, some melon, apple and citrus. Not bone dry. Tasty bubble. Touch of bitterness in the finish. Certainly very good.
