In a good spot--seashells, creamy, touch on rich side, softer on finish. Unlike other vintages of this wine which can go for 10+ years, this feels like should be drunk in before it hits that point.

Incredible nose of intertwined lemon oil, minerals and salinity. The palate is very open, green pear, sweet lemon curd, lime with an intense mineral finish. There's a incredible depth to this wine.

Just lovely again, still vibrant with citrus, kitchen garden herbs and minerality. Full bodied (for a Muscadet) but what the hell is wrong with that? Unbelievable with clams and side meat.

Stones and lemon soda on the nose. Weighty for Muscadet with impressive minerality structuring up the full throttle lemon fruit. Perfect oyster pairing and nice on its own afterwards if you're in to cleansing high acidity.

Great muscadet. A little more weight than normal. Could be the nature of the vintage but sacrifices nothing in energy for it. Wonderfully floral, with tremendous cut and minerality. Almost chablis like in character. Drinks even better after two days in the fridge, certainly a good omen for the future. Another lovely wine from this essential producer.

Ripe lemon, green apple and melon on the nose with some herbs and flint. Dry and medium bodied palate with balanced crispy acidity and rich creamy fruit. Some zesty lemon and minearality. Long finish. Rather stylish Muscadet with concentrated fruit effortlessly carried by the beautiful structure. Yummy!

30 months on the lees. It's big and ripe for a muscadet, but the ripeness presents itself in a certain rich creaminess to the fruit rather than in sweetness -- the profile is still primarily citrus with some green apple and pear flavors. There's a saline edge and the minerality is there but subdued. The texture is rich but paradoxically light, almost satiny. Very nice with scallops.

Friday Night @ Weygandt (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): This is a big, bold Muscadet that shows a lot of heft, but still pays homage to the classic sea spray and mineral intensity of Muscadet. Initially, it smelled like white flowers, rich melon fruit, ocean spray and sea salt. The palate shows plump white peach fruit, tangy acid, and hints of lime and salt. There's a lovely creaminess to this wine, but also a lot of acid. Can a wine be hedonistic and racy at the same time? If so, this is the wine. Over time a lot of soap and perfume aromas came out. This could be aged for ten years easily, and I'm sure it would gain a lot of complexity. This is one hell of a Muscadet.

A joint project of Marc Ollivier and another vigneron, extended lees aging, I thought this delicious. Full but racy, dense citrus fruit and a mineral bonanza on the finish. A-

Marc and MJ's - great food and nice wines (Bellingham, WA): Couleur jaune tres pâle. Nez légèrement floral. En bouche, belle fraîcheur avec des éléments de zeste de citron et de coquillages écrasées.
