My last bottle. Decanted for an hour. Still pretty big a juicy. Well balanced between fruit, acids and tannins. Probably could go another 2-3 years. Not bad for Sting's second vintage bottling. I bet his recent vintages are stellar. Drink up.

Ohhhh, plums and tire store...and some serious new oak comes a callin' when you get to hour number 2. Lovely, hang on to it if you want, but I say it's in a nice place for short-term consumption.

Poured through a coravin. A lovely floral nose of jammy fruit. Big and brooding but somewhat out of balance with high acidity and an oaky finish. Otherwise a nice pairing with spaghetti and meatballs. Probably would improve after a long decant.

Medium dark garnet color. Pleasant, moderate dark red fruit aromas. First taste was not at all what I was expecting. The tannins were so smooth as to make me wonder if they existed. Moderate dark red fruit was present. Wine seemed one dimensional with acid being the main ingredient. As the wine opened up, more complexity showed up. Turned out to be a wonderful food wine. Fair amount of sediment so be prepared.

Had with roast pork loin. Deep purple-bblack to the edge. Perfumed dark fruit with some earth on the nose. Very Bordeaux in style. This is a big wine. Coming into balance with good balance and a lot of life left in it. Notes of earth with bodacious fruit and softening tannins. This wine will be even better in 3-5 years.

Refined for this style. Almost french. Big wine with nice perfumed laced fruit. Tannins still need to mellow, this will integrate fantastically in about 3 years. Decent for one hour. this is a great wine. Wifey loves Sting, so win/win

Russk. Pablo brought to GC at Ties. Had been decanted and chilled. Clearly the WOTN. Smells and tastes like a 10 yr old Dal Forno Ripasso. Sweet, rich, could taste the sangio and the cab. 92-.

Thanksgiving with friends & family. Earthy and aromatic, like an older Bordeaux (in fact that's what I guessed it was in my blind tasting. Never disappointed by this wine.

Was P&P but I had some after the bottle had been open for a little bit. Funky, compelling nose - mix of earth and herbs/veggies. Maybe a bit too much of the latter. Lots of oak, perhaps overdone. I found palate harsh, and bitter tannins. Needs time and/or a lot of air. Though I just had a taste of this, I wouldn't buy more at $40-50.

Bought 6 btls. Opened the first with my vineyard manager/winemaker neighbors last night. I grow and make wine as well. Balance finished today. Air always helps. Slightly closed nose but a nice spice component starts and becomes persistent. Mineral, cinnamon, star anise. Sangiovese I'd like to think. After that I'm challenged. The fruit is very mineral and oak driven. In fact the oak really dominates the wine. I am concerned this will only become drier as it gains in age. I read notes saying luscious and wonder if this is a bottle from a different portion of the bottling run. I think the fruit is challenged by the barrel. There are no hints of bret or other flaws. Just a heavy hand of oak. Hope the next bottle is better/different.
