Decadent, but past its prime time. Mellow and sweet nose. Overripe, dried fruits: dates, apricot, cherries. Attractive texture. Deep sweet finish.Still a lot of power left but I recommend to not keeping it too long: drink up!

Very deep opaque aubergine color. Interesting nose of fresh cherries and bacon - so different but pleasurable. On the palate lots of dark fruit, again dried cherries but with notes of graphite. I was expecting a fruit bomb but this has integrated the fruit so nicely with age. Extremely long finish. I’m very impressed with this wine.

Superb. Lots of graphite laden, pure Syrah fruit. Perfectly peaking. Big, but not overly extracted or hot. Delicious with soy sauce marinated grilled beef tenderloin.

Good, not great. Subtle for an Aussie Shiraz. Perfectly mature, I wouldn't wait. Yes, there are cork issues with this bottling. And Noon wines throw MASSIVE amounts of sediment. Decant, for sure.

At about the right age for drinking I think, Noon wines seem to take an age to lose their initial muscle and brutish power. When they settle and mature, as this has, they become more nuanced and complex and develop more intricate flavours. This is also less full bodied than in its youth, although still possesses deep and concentrated fruit. Black cherries, kirsch, cloves and olives are in abundance, excellent length and a long finish. Has good bones to hold for some time but I quite like it in its current state.

Appearance: Bright and clear, it has deep ruby color, with fading garnet rims and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of black fruit of blueberry and blackberry, some red fruit of raspberry and red cherries, pungent spice of licorice and pepper, kernel notes of roasted almond and , mineral notes of tar, maturity notes of game. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium (-) tannin of ripe and smooth texture, with high alcohol but only a bit warming. It has a medium (+) body and medium (+) intensity flavors of black fruit such as plum and dark cherries, pungent spice of pepper, oak notes of toast, kernel notes of walnut, mineral notes of tar. The wine has a medium finish. Conclusion: Very good Australian Grenache-Shiraz blend, but the cork was broken upon opening, which was shared by some other tasters of the wine from the same vintage. Despite that, the wine has a good intensity on the nose, showing a nice range of complex characters. On the palate it is robust, strong with an alcohol level but not too overwhelming. The palate is reasonably concentrated with a nice finish, though the length was not phenomenal. It is ready to drink now and at peak, not supposed to further age.

Beautiful, smooth and flavorful without being overly fruity. Was worried it would be past its prime, but everything turned out great. Very impressed and would love to drink it again.

I am so disappointed. We bought this bottle in Australia and it has been stored well since. The cork broke in half upon opening. Never a good sign. The wine was tainted in some way - probably slightly corked. What a bummer. I poured more than half out.

Deep, concentrated on the nose with plums, some Christmas spices, vanilla and rubber. Med+ body, concentrated, polished, tarry, licorice palate, moderately spicy. Good length. Not a favorite style of mine, but still quite ok and even of some interest on its own, until I got back to it after a good Tuscany (I'd better not).

Pretty good actually, just starting to settle down. Lots of dark brambly fruit, christmas cake, creamy oak and fine tannins. Good structure but quite full throttle. Think this will be better in a few more years.
Time has worked its magic and this wine is singing. On the nose and palate it has Bordeaux varietal characteristics more than CNP or Aussie Shiraz. Cassis and black fruits. Smooth and solid throughout. Wish I had more.

An abundance of power meets subtle filigree. Black cherries, black cherries, blackberries, blackberries, everything twice as strong as normal. Cinnamon, coffee, graphite, and then a buttery fat round flattering irresistible palate presence. Finish over 60 seconds.

One note. Cherries, cherries, and more cherries. Very tasty but cherry soda from the grocery store would be a better bargain. Next time I'll serve it with lamb with an herb crust to try to drag some other flavor to the surface.
OK, day 2 was better. Some tar, licorice, and a hint of eucalyptus emerged. I'm willing to consider this wine is at an awkward adolescent stage now. Day 1 86 pts, day 2 89.

NOSE -- cherries, leather, licorice; TASTE -- toast, spices, chewy raspberries, a little tar. All in all straightforward, silky smooth texture and expansive flavor with decent finish.

Typically one of my favorite Aussies, I hope this is simply in an awkward phase (as I have more). It showed relatively poorly tonight. Macerated berries, licorice, mint, and a hot, sloppy jammy quality made this particular bottle difficult to enjoy.

Intense full-bodied red with complex, smooth, velvety components. Very dark red-garnet, not opaque. Dominantly cherries (blow off after some time) and spices on the nose. Tight, fruit-driven spicy flavors, initially packet in a very smooth and velvety mouthfeel. After a few seconds, tickling acidity, some chewy, soft tannins and the nearly 16% alc take over... Hardly any oak and no sediment to speak of. Not that happy about the numbing acetone aromas, and the slightly hot finish. It's really the initial mouthfeel and exceedingly well balanced mid-palate that will make you long for more. Highly recommended if you can get it at $40.

Dark garnet color to the rim. Nose shows red berries, spice, pepper, and tobacco. On the palate, cherry and red berry flavors predominate with pepper in the mix. Acidity is prominent, but not intrusive and gives this wine a nice balance. Very nice, and I feel will get better with a few years in the bottle.

Pop and pour. Jammy and syrup to start but with limited air it turned into a very nice, layered wine full of red fruit.

Noon Eclipse Vertical and some excellent Mollydookers (Mersch offices, Giva't Coach): Exquisite nose, bombastic and powerful. Lots of ripe fruits mixed with smoke. Full, round, soft and enjoyable tannins, well balanced and harmonic. Acidity is not high and the finish a bit bitter. This is the correct time to drink.
