This was quite exceptional, especially for the price. Mixed berries, resolved tannins, nose of fruit and leather. Drank nicely over two nights. The only significant negative was that it was somewhat generic -- I would not have said Chile if drinking blindly.

Medium bodied; beautiful purple color. Full fledged berry fruit. Tastes juicy with nice acidity. Nice long finish with some evolving flavors. Aging very well. Wish I had more.

I give it an 85 here. With said, it's an underrated wine. Very balanced. Nose of ripe, stewed fruits; strawberries, blueberries, earth in a positive sense combined with the fruit. I actually really love this wine, but don't want to inflate my ratings wih my first tasting note. Probably closer to 90. Somewhat one dimensional. Fruity on the nose with more terroir coming through dans la bouche. maybe perceived weak in the mid palate, but the tannins and acidity, after being open for 15 to 10 minutes are in balance, so smooth and approaching fine. Color nice ruby red and bright. Well made blend with rustic and new world appeal. I'd say drink it now because of the balance it has achieved.

I really like this wine, nice mouthfeel, complex fruit, and nice structure. But this one was corked - classic wet newspaper smell permeated the wine. It wasn't so bad that I couldn't drink it, but it overshadowed what could have been a 91/92 point experience. Hope the rest of my bottles don't have the same issue.

This wine is easy to like. 29% Cab, 28% Syrah, 25% Carmenere, and 18% Merlot. You can not pick out the individual varietals. Instead, what you get is a full-bodied, well-integrated taste that comes across as a very different and enjoyable red varietal. Probably like nothing you have had before - It is a little earthy, with a touch of mocha, good finish. Think we paid about $20, worth it. DRINK NOW. Don't see it aging positively from here on out. I hear the 2010 may be every a tad better.

Dark red, with a fragrant herbal nose. Dark crushed cherries, and blackberry with an underlying pepper core. Finishes with solid tannins and soft herbal notes. Great bbq wine.

This is a disjointed mess right now. I think it will soften some with age...but I don't think it will improve. Nose is all Chile with lots of oak. Color is very dark red to purple. Palate is big, bold, and everywhere; oaky, peppers, dark roast coffee, hints of black earth. There is an element of confected dark fruits and berries which partially hides an acidic core, of the type that does not usually integrate. Tannins are low and alcohol is high. Nothing indicates this wine is in a phase or will blossom into something nice. It showed no change or improvement over three days and had begun to come apart by the third.

An underrated wine with a nose of spice and vanilla, a vegetal but not overwhelming palate and a chocolate-y finish. For the price a good value and opens up nicely.

The verdict on this wine is still yet to be define. Tar, leather and cherry cola flavors on the palate with a firm acid core. Tannis are rich and avid, I'm not sure of how this wine will age but today it's a young buck antlers.

Solid again. Sorry no notes other than the fact I drank it over two nights and it was strong both nights, as expected a bit smoother on night 2. Refrigerated in between (I'm a strong advocate of refrigerating open bottles of red rather than leaving them at room temperature) and warmed to cellar temp before drinking. After this experience bought the last two bottles they had at Sam's Club for $14.95

It's been a few weeks since I had it, but I thought it was a great deal for the quality. It was smooth and rich, complex but balanced. Reminded me of some $30-$50 blends I've had from Napa.

This was surprisingly good. It was a few weeks ago so it is a little fuzzy, but I remember it being balanced with some spicy complexity on the palate. Just bought 4 more bottles and will post more detailed notes

Rich and spicy. Inviting nose of dark cherries and berries, expecially blackcurrants, with jalapeno and black pepper notes; rich, jammy fruit, a bit redder than the nose, with pomegranates and bing cherries, a touch of licorice and bittersweet chocolate, and more jalapeno and lots of spicy black pepper; smooth tannins, and a decent finish, ending in cherries and tobacco. Went perfectily with grilled leg of lamb.

Deep purple color. Expressive nose of sour cherries and barnyard. Flavor of tart cherries and black fruit, somewhat glycerol, intimations of sweetness (zinfandel-like in that regard), flat tannins. The most notable character element is the carmenere that peeks through. It's an interesting conversation piece, at best, and not sure what to pair it with.
