The Walter Hansel Pinots never seem to disappoint. This had a lovely nose of strawberries and warm spices. On the palate the fruit is vibrant but not overstated, strawberries and currants, spice. Great mouthfeel. Polished tannins, crisp acidity and beautiful balance. The finish is long and graceful with black cherry and spice. A really lovely and perfectly mature Pinot. There is no reason to wait on these, but you could drink and enjoy them for another 5 to 10 years. 14.5% ABV but no heat at all.

Wow what a delicious mature Pinot. Elegant, Earthy, and with ample bright fruit. PnP and drank with Salmon/seafood chowder. I love this producers wines... so consistently delicious. Looking forward to my remaining two bottles over the next several years.

I typically like the wines from this producer but given what I look for in pinot now, the way this came across last night, I didn't care for it. Dark fruited, blackberry profile, riper styled. Just seemed big to me. This will appeal to a cut of the CA pinot crowd, just not for me.

I wish I had a lot more of this delicious wine. We finished this wine a couple hours ago with friends and the flavor still lingers. Deep, rich and luscious. It may, and probably will, get better with age, but you can't make a mistake drinking it now - simply a great bottle of wine.

Enjoyed a few bottles of the 2010 Cuvee Alyce over dinner with friends and family. Opened them all about 30 minutes ahead of the meal and the wine was drinking beautifully. It clearly exceeded my expectations and drew great comments around the table from a serious pinot noir drinking crowd. This is a great pinot, particularly at the price.

Dried currents, black raspberry and boysenberry on the nose. Perfectly balanced with wonderful mouthful, dark berry flavors and clean, lovely finish.

A very well balanced PN. Nice fruit, mild spice and smoke flavors.

VG. Some jaminess, spices, cherries. Did not taste like a Pinot Noir.
