  • Good golly, this is what summer is all about for me. Warm evenings, great company, and a Rosé that just sings! Not much more to add that hasn't already been said by William Allen, but I'll throw in my .02 cents worth.

After officially declaring open season on Rosé, with Bedrock's Ode to Lulu and Copain's Tous Ensemble setting the pace, I am pleased to announce another grand slam effort with the '11 Cartograph Rosé! Strawberry and hints of watermelon are backed by a bright acidity that makes this a particularly satisfying wine.

To see that there were only 55 cases produced is a bit of a heartbreaker, but I will savor my remaining bottles...if I can muster a bit of self-control!

  • Simple Hedonisms Rosť Panel; 5/1/2012-8/5/2012: Another standout wine during my May Rosé series tasting. Rosé can be hard to pull off, so kudos to winemaker for their first.
I haven't gone through all my Pinot Rosé yet, but this one is one of the best so far, and stands in the top of the overall pack.

To The Eye: A light pink, with a pleasant salmon orange hue
On The Nose: Expressive nose of fresh strawberries, white peach, rose petals.
In The Mouth: Bright, fun, and (too) easy to drink. A red fruit bowl of strawberry, fresh raspberry, bright cherry, pomegranate.
Fresh fruit on the front palate, nice mouthfeel mid palate balanced with Bright mouthwatering acidity on the finish.
Geek info: TA 6.7 pH 3.16 Alc: 13.2

Only 55 cases made. And a handful of the cutest damn 375 ml bottles you ever saw.
This one is a keeper, buy 3-6 bottles, and make sure you hide away 1-2 for Thanksgiving!
