Pulled from an OWC in great condition. Beautiful fully mature bottle of DRC Riche without any notes of decay. Smooth, easy-going and a pleasure to drink.

PR 1969 Extravaganza: Delicate aromatics - stalks, redcurrant and earthy ash notes. Savoury on the palate, there is some red fruit flavour as well. Definitely time to drink based on this as everything is pretty much resolved.

Decanted for an hour and enjoyed over the next two. Possible this would have improved with more air, but overall it was good yet outclassed by the G-E, which was more elegant and balanced. While this is a big, powerful wine, I felt the caramel and wood overtones were distracting and didn't enjoy it as much as the G-E as well as a '69 Bouchard Caillerets which were both more enjoyable. B+/A-?

Awesome nose that has pine spice, smoky earth, and leathery red cherry. Surprisingly fresh and a quick swirl yields a bouquet of red and blue fruit. Some tertiary notes of echinacea. On the palate the red berry fruit is sweet and has a soily texture and beautifully integrated tannin. Really happy with this. Comparable with the rest of the flight ('83 and '72 LT and '76 Riche) in terms of youth and development. An outstanding bottle of wine.

Possibly the WOTN in a big DRC tassting. Great spices, asian spices, red berries and earth. Showed really well on this occasion with the classic Riche spice and whole cluster accents. This bottle certainly had plenty of time to run.

Minimal air needed - fair amount of bricking and a wide rim of transparency in the glass. A great wallop of fresh cherries, raspberries, earth and truffles on the nose. Ripe black cherry, quatre-epice and vanilla on the palate. Absolutely stellar. Wow.

A truly great and classic red Burgundy. Perfectly stored bottle since release. Awesome aromas of red berries, Vosne spice, and earthy minerality. Palate while showing hints of age was surprisingly rich and sweet dominated by excellent red fruits and a kaleidoscope of wonderful baking spice. A long finish that begged one to take just one more sip, until the glass was empty. Thank you Linda and Jamie for this very special treat.

Post-Krug Dinner (House 406 - Northbrook IL): Open and decanted at 4:30, returned to bottle at 5, then served shortly after 8 PM. Jamie's dad had purchased this bottle at release. What an absolute treat. Mesmerizing red cherry aromas, nicely mature with cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and clove. Similar flavors, just slightly more mature and slightly less engrossing. 98 point nose, 93 point palate with great charm and good+ weight and length. Much appreciation, Jamie and Linda!

Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner (Chateau de Meursault): Small glass, brief note. wow, this was just perfect. Mature red cherry, intense spice, complemented by mushroom, while everything nicely fresh and incredibly powerful and dense. A head-turning great, and others agreed. Wow, thanks, Omar!

opened 30 minutes prior to serving, not decanted. Lots of leather, good amount of sweet fruit, plummy, a little animal. Very cloudy from sediment being shaken, a little tannic from the sediment. Much more muted than expected and not showing well. Very disappointing.

Acker BYO 2012 (Tribeca Grill, Tribeca, NY): Nose: dried red flowers with a touch of blood, a touch of chemical. Sweet, sauvage. Really special on the palate: cola and brown sugar, roast meat, saline, tomato. Just beautiful with silky tannins all the way through. Elegant and perfumed with a long gentle sweet brown finish. Nose - 4-4.5/6, Palate - 6/6, Finish - 5.5-6/6, Je Ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17-18/20.

Garnet color with fading at the edges. Subtle spice on the nose with some dried cherry, cranberry, and rhubarb. Palate was quite nice with somewhat lean red fruits and good spice. Great finish with very nice acidity.

Lieu-dit Cru Richebourg Dinner (Primehouse - Chicago IL): Audouzed 4+ hours before poured. Pale color, clearly browning. Slightly sweet character throughout the flavor profile, with bit a caramel in particular on the finish. Earthy and elegant, but noticeably short. One person who has had this wine before felt it wasn’t showing as well as other bottles.

Lieux-dits-Cru Richebourg Dinner (Primehouse): Medium garnet/orange with a little brown at the edges. Medium nose of sous bois, black and red cherry with a slightly canned note. Much better on the palate with nice rich sweet cherry and good spice. A lovely wine, but it did deteriorate a bit in the glass over time. Drink up. 92+ pts.

Rustic, meaty aromas, took time to clear up. High acidity palate, but also ripeness and depth of this plot. Masculine. (7465/13569)

Meaty, spicy nose, caramel, sous bois. Palate showed sweet red fruit with soft tannins and acidity. Good bottle overall and would drink up.
