  • The great thing about plastic corks is that they work really well. Like a screw cap. Sure sure "serious wine" uses real cork but AWAK, real cork fails after a certain point.

This wine was never meant to be put away for a decade but it was and its the better for it. Still fresh, lively, focused with great red fruit flavors (red apple, dark cherry, splash of raspberry) and added secondary depth that only ageing can impart. Thanks to a no fail sealing system it drank great! Last tasted 2013.

  • Wicked streak of minerality running through a nice bright melange of cherries, raspberries and cranberries. Excellent.

  • Deep garnet with an brick orange rim. Medium legs with good viscosity. Cherries, cassis, tobacco and green peppercorns dominate the nose before some earthiness creeps into the end notes. On the palate, it has average texture and the robust nature of the wine unabashedly prevails. Spiciness is followed by an attack of acidity. This wine then finishes with some sweetness before moderate tannins round things out. A very youthful wine and great QPR.
