Bordeaux-Lite... And I don't mean that in a bad way. A soft, simple, elegant, slightly short-finishing wine, but the price is right and I would argue it over delivers for the $12 price tag. This offers cassis, earth and leather notes; balanced, and does not cross into a over-ripe, modern wine; tastes like Bordeaux (but again, quite light-bodied).

paid $12. you can definitely do alot worse at this price point. the body is a little thin and the finish is a little short, but hey, at least it tastes like Bordeaux. nose of barnyard, and mostly red fruit. black cherry, and a little strawberry with time. tasty upfront with juicy apple skin like tannins but lacking a pronounced finish i'd take this over many Cali cabs at the price point.
nose: a lot of earth, black raspberry jam, and menthol
palate: compact and earthy. fresh fruit [black raspberry, black cherry, plum] and a good dose of toasty wood, also a slight bit of salinity accompanied by very stemmy tannins.

Surprisingly good Bordeaux for the price. Well made in an approachable but still interesting style. Drinking well now and probably will remain that way for the next couple of years.

Solid value. Reading some of these reviews you'd think that some of you folks expect Plume du Peintre quality for $15. This is a decently priced better than average Bordeaux given other options in it's price range. Nice dark fruit nose and the flavors follow. No amazing finish but then again what do you want for $15? Have it with Pizza or a cheap steak and you'll be delighted. If you eat Filet Mignon, Lamb or Halibut everyday- this wine is not for you.

Medium ruby in color, this rustic Bordeaux has aromas of cassis, tar, espresso and licorice. Medium-bodied, tart and with lightweight but coarse tannins, it follows with flavors mirroring the nose. The alcohol (listed as 13%) is acceptably integrated, but the middle palate hollows out and the finish is short. While drinkable, this wine offers little in the way of charm. Drink now-2018.

Garnet color. Somewhat thin legs. Minerals and lead pencil in the nose. Tastes of blackcurrant, plum, minerals; fairly oaky with a butternut flavor. Light-medium body, somewhat narrow flavor profile. Medium finish. 4-12-13-7: 86/100.

The owner is telling me "it brings some mineral notes on the nose and it is interesting because the alcohol degree of Carmenere is naturally very low. With global warming it really helps us lower the alcohol level in Bordeaux. So there is more potential in the wines and Carmemere will be more and more important. As wine makers its sometimes hard to figure out how to improve the quality because of the time and expermentation. So every year we are watching and experiementing and working. We planted the Carmenere 15 years ago and back then it was crazy. But we must experimentation. Remember that Carmenere is very low yielding so it was once lost. But we experiment."
Frankly, I thought this was $30 bucks when I tasted it first.

Corked, but full of volume and fruit. Pretty darn classic Bordeaux. Parker has apperently called this the best Bordeaux superior estate. Wine is definately in the bottle.

Recommended by a knowledgeable server at a very good restaurant and quite a surprise for $28 (cheapest thing on the list by ten bucks). Just landed a case at $13/btl...well worth that as a daily drinker.

Nothing special, but good. Very well made Bordeaux superior. At $10, it's worth a try. At15, there are plenty of better wines in this region. The legs are Fast. It smells like Strawberry, Raspberry, and Forest floor. The body is Light/Medium. The wine has Smooth texture. The wine finishes Short.

Some lavender and flat notes of cane sugar on the nose. The wine itself is flabby and insipid, while, once allowed to really open up to the air around it, shows off some favorable splashes of dark currants and wisps of cherry.

the nose shows fresh flowers and ripe red berries, the palate is clean, comes with a good amount of rustic wild strawberry, cherry, mineral and herb to finish, dry red, drinking well now, medium-bodied, shows great balance and fruit at a very affordable level, food-friendly

Fresh and juicy, dark cherry and vanilla flavor, quaffable. Second day: more earth and pepper, campfire smokiness.

Very good. Light and airy with a smooth finish and velvety mouthfeel. Tart fruit on the nose. Definite buy for the money.
