Color cobre oscurecido. Magnífico aroma y lleno de vibraciones con flores blancas, cera, cítricos. Boca de enorme complejidad, gran cuerpo, gran presencia, gran acidez integrada con fruta blanca y amarilla. Final larguísimo. Vino excepcional en su clase

Château La Conseillante dinner & Kabinett tasting (Groot-Ammers, Netherlands): AP 18 05. It is well documented that there were three Scharzhofberger Kabinetts in 2004, AP 06 05, AP 07 05 and AP 08 05 (Auction). Apparently there was a fourth one however, this magnificent AP 18 05. It manages to be huge without any weight, with incredible drive and power, wax and cassis, so tightly wound, this must be the ultimate Saar Kabinett. WOTN for many, including me.

Rich for Kabinett but quite complex with delicious white fruit, lightly petrol tinged minerals and mouth-watering acidity harmoniously balanced. Much more to my taste than the overblown '03. Very good.

Dégustation Spätlesen (Salle de dégustation Laurier): Un nez de citron et de... savon! La bouche est de corps moyen, élégante, tendre, agréable, finale saline. Agréable, délicat et fin, mais pas très complexe. 88 pts

Drinking Egon Muller with Egon Muller (Annam): Alcohol :: 8.5% Opened for 75mins in advanced. Darker golden in the core with light green hue. It is always great to compare young and older Riesling from same producer. German Rieslings are so delicious with their lovely fruits when young that is hard to resist not to drink them young, hence it is very difficult to come across with aged German Rieslings in the market. This 7yrs old Kabinett has developed significant secondary note on both nose and palate, such as soft but expressive kerosene and smokiness with citrus, grapefruits and little touch of honey. The sweetness and primary fruits has mellowed down and revealed complex flavors and mineral on the palate. A little bit lean and smaller scale compared to the 2010 but still with great focus and tension. Medium length finished with earthy, almost nutty aftertaste.

Absolutely stunningly good. Packed with everything you are looking for in a top class mosel(saar) kabinett. Lemons, green fresh apples. On the nose, honny, more towards lime, and even hints some asian spices. As it opens up, white flowers grows up and fills the room. Clearly one kabinett with the most impressive mouthfeel compared to most kabinett, i´ve tasted. very much looking forward to try the 05, 07 and 09.....

New Chapter - 2011 (Imperial Treasure @ Great World City): Alcohol :: 8.5% Lively fresh aromas of smoke, honey citrus, grapefruits, hint of sweet pineapple and secondary aromas of kerosene. Sweet entry with slight creamy mouth feel along with good freshness. Amazing tension on the palate with rich and concentrated sweet yellow fruits, earthiness and mineral freshness that has long, precise finished with citrus peel aftertaste. Pretty impressive for a 04 Kabinett. Buy - Maybe.

Altra conferma di bontà assoluta per questo kabinett, soprattutto la bocca che ha struttura e aciditä da vendere, di enorme bevibilitä. Naso non complessissimo ma dritto e piacevole

This was no surprise - as always, the elegance of Egon Muller's Scharzhobergers did not fail to impress. Still very fresh, appley, peachy, honey and grass like, full of minerals, but had not developed the petrol thing yet. Length could be longer. Great as a starter. Cheers

Peranakan Dinner @ the Serenade (Martin & Joyce's): A little tight at first, but this slowly came alive over the course of dinner, especially with the Ayam Buah Keluak, one of the most notoriously difficult to pair of all Peranakan dishes. Nose had classic Mosel lines, with a touch of sweet latex notes, nectarine, sticky white fruit and just that hint of nascent secondary accents like truffle and white bread. Again, very classic clean lines on the palate, with sweet nectarines, orange citrus and a mineral backbone that became more prominent after the mid-palate. Very decent finish too - a touch of spice, lemony, orangey citrus tones and that minerally seam running through. My initial guess was 2006, because the acidity seemed a little low against the sticky sappiness of the fruit. Somehow though, the sweetness seemed to tone down a bit with the food, and the acidity stood out more over dinner. With the nutty, spicy chicken dish, the wine took on a lovely creamy texture, with flowery tones unfolding in the mouth. A very nice wine.

Light hay yellow; sweet flinty nose, bit of honey; lots of acidity and lots of sweetness, very youthful, candy; very likeable

Gorgeous nose of orchard fruit, vibrant and inviting. Palate is sweet, undeveloped, but luscious, bright and mineral. Great future.
