This wine speaks to the greatness of the region. At less than $15 and at 10 years, this wine is just so solid and pleasing. Nothing complex, but drank well over 3 nights, with a core of dark fruit and plenty of stuffing. Bravo!

Modern Bordeaux done well - ripeish fruit but with enough savoury tannins, and not too much fat, to keep it moreish. But ultimately a tad sweet and ripe

Nice aromas coming out to the glass, red fruits meet plums and black olive. Softly textured palate of tart red and black fruit, blood, pepper and bramble. There is a touch of greenness in the finish but it's not a bad thing, I think it goes well with the rest of the wine. As you take more sips the tannins sneak up on you but a bite of food calms them down, they don't overwhelm the palate or food in my opinion. Relatively short finish but no gaps or otherwise noticeable flaws. Rather, this is a cheap, easy drinking Bordeaux that provides good pleasure now and plays nice with food. I'm happy to have a couple more for mid-week consumption. 85-86

Thought this was quite good. Nice color, moderate nose with some dark fruit and barnyard aromas. Medium-bodied, good fruit with a hint of earthy tannins, simple but pleasing rustic style. Smooth and easy drinking. Not a world beater, but a very good effort for this little property. Would drink over the next few years. The charm of this wine is its youthful exuberance and freshness.

Very good $12 bottle of Bordeaux. Lots of earth elements to complement the blue fruits. Easy to drink, decent finish. Did not hold up greatly over night.

Slightly earthy on the nose, with nice black fruit, some spice and chocolate, and a nice vanilla hit at the end. Rich and tannic on the palate, with dark fruit and spice, some mocha, and a nice vanilla finish.

A nice balanced mix of fruit and earthy characteristics. There is some tannic structure but it blends nicely into the background. An enjoyable, easy drinking weeknight type wine. Perfect with roasted chicken.

Truffles, liquorice, hint of green pepper, barnyard, good fruit on the palate, tannins prominent but not overbearing, crisp pleasing finish. A nice simple Bordeaux.

Garnet, youthful. Slightly muted, dusty nose, slowly revealing cherry fruit, cedar, oak. Medium to full bodied, crunchy Merlot fruit aromas, fine tannins. Good finish, acidic lift, just a touch of heat from the alcohol. Nice, true to Blaye. Could do with a few years in the cellar to integrate all the parts fully. Good value.

Still some curtains.
But perhaps a bit over the top. Drink now.
Mellow in the taste.

Garagiste selection
Color: dark purple with good legs
Nose: medium intensity; straight-forward attractive Bordeaux aromas, but nothing unique
Body/flavor: medium body; very enjoyable to drink
Aftertaste: short finish
An enjoyable very good value Bordeaux. Still have a bottle left and want to see how it develops over next year or two

Humdrum Bordeaux. Nothing out of balance but nothing at all memorable. Not a rebuy even at the Garagiste price of $12.

initally preferred to the Saint Emilion - not as ripe fruited, but with more air became riper and pruney! Ended up being a bit unpleasant for me

Decent if one-dimensional pretty little Bordeaux. Not bad for $13. Would hang on to the 2nd bottle for another year.

I think this would be better if it had mellowed a bit as the tannins were still rather strong though the wine had a fair level of fruit
