Translucent cherry red. Faint, earthy nose. Pleasant fruit on the palate, blueberries, cherries. Bit one-note. Soft tannins, decent acidity, good balance. Finishes moderately long with blue fruits. Nice, but I'd drink up in the next year or two.

Black currants, white pepper, garrigue and sweet tobacco lift up from the 2010 Syrah Rosella's Vineyard. This is energetic, spicy and spry, with cool-toned textures giving way to brisk acids mixing with ripe blackberries, savory herbs and a stimulating twang of tangerine. The 2010 keeps the energy high throughout the finish, both cheek-puckering and primary, making for a remarkably fresh and floral-tinged finale.
PnP then drank over two days. Deep purple fully extracted. No brick. Nose is expressive with savory notes, pepper, spice with camphor overlay. Dark fruits with rounded tannins a bright backbone long finish. Drinking great and lots of life left.

I enjoyed this wine over two nights. First night, it took at least an hour for the wine to relax. Substantial weight together with leather and spices were the big impressions. Second night, it was a much rounder wine, with subdued ripe plums and blackberries.

PnP at a restaurant, just needed a few minutes in the glass to open up and had very little sediment. Lush blackberry fruit backed up with good structure with some light tar notes on the finish. Thought the true syrah profile comes through nicely. Drinking well now, and should continue for at least 3 more years.

In a funky period. I would hold for a few years. Tannins are a bit biting at the moment and somewhat disjointed. I do think it may come together with time, but it is speculation.

Something definitely wrong with this wine but difficult to figure out the defect. Only the second bad bottle of Carlisle I have ever consumed. It was drinkable but not enjoyable.

Dark ruby color with a blend of oak and floral (violets?) aromas. This syrah has nice ripeness and richness with good juicy acidity. Plenty of fruit and good structure. It really does taste like a Central Coast wine made in Sonoma. An interesting contrast with the 2010 Bennett Valley from a few nights ago.

Dark fruit, meats with plenty of bacon and like most rosella bottling a orange like flavor on the finish. Incredible rare with only 60 cases, glad to have another bottle.

PnP. No detailed notes. Big. Dark. Fairly earthy. Nice spice. Still plenty of time left.

Classic carlisle syrah with ripe berry fruit and oak spice. Moderate density but overflowing with flavors. Well balanced and just tasty.

Similar to last note, dark fruit, meats, cherry, nice balance and acidity. Good right now or hold for 2-3 years. Amazing only 60 cases.

Deep garnet color but a light nose and palate although its great length might indicate better days ahead. Pleasant but borderline disappointing.
