Somehow I came into two bottles of this 2011 white sometime last year. Just opened one of them to see if it had turned south. It is still good, nice smooth taste and finish.

Fruit salad flavored white wine. Tastes strongly of honeydew melon and sweet green grapes. Low acidity, unctuous texture. Bleh. Not my kind of wine at all.

Hoped is would get better over time - it didn't. Wouldn't drink it; wouldn't cook with it; wouldn't even give it away to folks who don't drink wine, so I just dumped it since it was taking up space in the cellar that could be put to much better use. Used to enjoy previous vintages. Not taking the risk in the future.

i don't really understand the negative reviews. Maybe it's that we enjoyed a bottle at the top of the Lake Louise ski resort overlooking the Canadian Rockies and Lake Louise. Nice oak aromas and flavor, buttery and velvety on the palate, but nicely balanced with fruit. Just the way I like it. 90-91.

Pale lime cordial with a light spritz on the eye. The nose is fizzy, much like elderflower sparkling wine and with aromatics of Turkish Delight and very ripe pear and apricot. This follows through on the palate but with a citrus lime and honeyed finish. This is quite a big bodied wine that needs food and certainly isn't a session wine. Intriguing wine with lots to think about and was certainly a good match with spicy food.

Popped (unscrewed) and poured. This was my first Conundrum, and I was surprised by how sweet this was. You don't expect much residual sugar at 13.5%. That said, its a well made wine that would be best paired with spicy food - or maybe just a hot summer day. Nice peach and melon flavors. Not really my style but I can see why many love it.

I sometimes forget how great this stuff is, do yourself a favour and try it. They don't tell you what's in it, but Muscat must be in the mix considering the residual sugar. Very pleasant, must be drunk cold.

Floral nose of honeysuckle, lavender and lilac that combines with aromas and flavors of mango, apple, nectarine, melon and a hint of spice. Well layered. The finish is medium length, soft and fleshy. This vintage seemed light on acidity and lacked some balance. A pretty wine, but it struggled this year with the Thanksgiving leftover pairing where it typically shines.

OK, but not good enough for the price. Mixed spicy fruit beginning, but finishes with off flavors. Better with food the off finish begins to disappear.

Have you ever wondered what it would look like if all of the Dancing with Stars contestants had to wear hiking boots for one episode? Light and muscular on top, big and clumsy down below. What if you also had them put on football shoulder pads and weights on top?
Now you're getting it..... Big and clumsy on top, leaden slow and dragging on the bottom. This wine is a modern marketing disaster! Except of course the folks who make this are probably laughing all the way to the bank so who's the joke really on? Sucker.
Created some years ago as an attempt to establish and define a White Meritage, this wine has gone from bad to worse over the ensuing years. Unfortunately this example was no exception.
It was appropriate that I tasted at a Labor Day Holiday BBQ, since drinking this wine was truly a labor! I loved the reviewer below who said this wine was best for non wine drinkers and those who liked flavored Moscato (true story - that was the other wine that was served with this one at the BBQ, I kid you not!!)
Do you really want to know what I think it tasted like in vineous terms? Oily, soft, bananas. Served chilled of course!

Pleasant albeit simple wine, with notes of tropical fruits, pear, homey and apricot. With some time open got more of a buttery taste, with a touch of banana. Ok for a hot day but not as good as prior vintages. From 375 ml.

Light yellow color with a nose of tropical fruit and flowers. The wine tastes of green melon, pear, honey, apricot, and light spice. It is light to medium bodied, very mildly acidic, and slightly sweet. I am not raving about this bottle, but it is ok for a warm weather summer white.

Yummy. Drank with Thai food in Orlando. Great value for $38 in a restaurant. Complex white wine for the red wine drinkers. Perfect combination of backbone and clean crisp fruit, unlike any other white wine blend. Nice long finish, lovely nose. Great every year.

I've been a fan of this wine for many years. How it left the winery like this is beyond my understanding. Sweet and clawing, like getting a nasty piece of candy you just want to spit out. No acidity to balance the sweetness. A popular product like this should be tasted by someone before distribution. This is my first review and I felt a need to warn anyone with the sense to read before buying. Avoid this one.

My wife and I have drunk earlier vintages of this wine and always enjoyed them. The '11 has a problem. I made the mistake of buying a case based on our experience and have regretted it. I opened a bottle and found it had a strange metallic flavor and after-taste. I have opened bottles periodically since then and the wine is not getting better with age - same bad after-taste. Not sure what to do with the rest of the case since we won't drink it and I can't foist it upon friends as a gift.

Floral and perfumy aromas and flavors - and not in a good way - with an ammonia-like whiff. This is thick, viscousy, and very sweet, with some lemon blossom, pear, gooseberry, and loquat notes but the more it sits the worse it gets. I expect better from the makers of Caymus.

I don't know how to rate wine. After being a big fan of this wine for the past ten years or so, I ordered a bottle with appetizers at Ruth's Chris. My wife did the tasting and must not have been paying attention when she did not send the bottle back. Rather than embarrass her, we drank the wine, cringing as we did so. I thought, and hoped, that it was a bad bottle. Unfortunately, we drank another bottle last Saturday and it was equally as bad. Do not buy the 2011. It reminds me of bitter grapefruit juice and my wife detects an overpowering odor of dung. Again, I don't know how to rate wine, but it is undrinkable, so for me it gets a zed.
OK, the site requires me to enter a score of at least 50. A gift to Caymus.

A "confused wine" my wife said. Polyglot mix of sweet and oak, little if any acidity, sort of like an overripe watermelon, peachy like a day old fuzzy navel. Maybe could be enjoyed ice cold like the proverbial pink zins of the 80's. Have had other vintages with much better success.

I have always been a conundrum fan until I drank this bottle with my girlfriend. It has a very distasteful aroma to it. I would describe this aroma as being very close to to sheep manure. The flavor profile was terrible. This is the last time I'm purchasing condundrum. I will never buy it again. Terrible vintage, at it's VERY WORSE! Avoid at all costs!

My wife and I have enjoyed many a bottle of Conundrum. The one we had tonight may be our last. Overly citrusy sweet with a funky layer of fishy decayed fruit. 2011 was a down and up year for Napa, so I can't point to an off year. We left about half the bottle on the table.

As noted elsewhere, this wine is very floral and more than a little sweet. Still, I liked it. I wouldn't pair it with a poached Norwegian salmon as it would just completely overpower it. But chilled on a warm day by the pool? Yeah.

Tastes like you put a touch of St. Germaine in the bottle- hints of elderflower- an extremely floral nose. Not overly buttery. Missing acidity, so mouthfeel makes it syrupy.

Light golden cider in color -- This wine came across as VERY floral...like I stuck my nose into a spring bouquet for the Mrs. Maybe small hints of mango & melon. The wine is not a "Crisp" white, though the acidity was good. Got a hint of tang/sweet & sour pucker feel in the sides of the mouth.
Overall this wine is not my style, though I would highly recommend this wine to those who are looking for a semi-sweet white with floral notes.

Golden yellow color with floral nose. Creamy textured with flavors of lemon, honeysuckle, honeydew, mild oak, vanilla. Sweet mid-palate that carries through a round finish. This was a crowd favorite during our lobster feast in Maine. Drink now until 2017.

USA White Wines (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): I really enjoyed previous vintages of this wine, and it was a bottle of the 2005 I had upon release that got me excited about exploring California whites. It smells like soap, flowers, white peach and white grapes. Actually it smells a little fake, like a cheap perfume intended to cover up bad body odor. On the palate there’s not nearly enough acid. It’s way too sweet, with lychee, honey, white flowers. This wine is intense, and I can see why people like it… but to be honest, it’s a little bit beyond my palate. It’s fun, a good party wine, but not exactly my thing anymore.

Sweet. Fruity. NO acidity. Did I mention sweet?
Too sweet.
To be clear, I did not have this with food. Maybe very spicy Thai would help tone down the fruit and sugar.

A nose of citrus and spice, medium golden in color. A medium bodied white kitchen sink blend, with peach, pear, melon with good acidity, very refreshing.

Agree that sweetness has overcome fruit and balance; had it with left over roasted turkey which was dry so the white helped the food.

Very fruity and perfumy/floral. Not a great solo drinking wine but might work with some food.

This wine has enormous fruit, with a strong peach. It's too sweet for my personal taste, but I had three guests who loved it. It's a bit young, and another year my help.

Golden yellow color with floral nose. Creamy textured with flavors of lemon, honeysuckle, honeydew, mild oak, vanilla. Sweet mid-palate that carries through a round finish. This was a crowd favorite during our lobster feast in Maine. Drink now until 2017.

Aroma is flloral. A little syrupy body. Peach front with a back end a bit too sweet but taste of grass. Summer sipper ok. Solid white, not so much.

APPEARANCE: Clean, crisp golden yellow
AROMA: Burnt rubber, kerosene, white flowers
TASTE: Little bit of heat, coats the palate with about a ten second finish. Not as great as previous vintages of Conundrum that we've tasted.
