clear deep garnet / purple color. nose of cherry, plum, tamarind, with a hint of yeasty dough. nice mouthfeel, the least sugary fake of the 01' and 03' and had the better balance of the three. nice jammy ripe fruit and smooth tannins.
($3) April Fool's Tasting at Momo's: April Fools Tasting - The infamous two-buck chuck…In my defense I think I was the only one who wasn't at least a little impressed. No one described it as varietally accurate, but no one spit it out either. My own notes read: "? What to make of this. Mint? Strange."
For the $1.99 a bottle I paid for this I would say I definitely got my money's worth. Very drinkable, but do not expect lots of cabernet sauvignon character from this one. Notes of cherries and raspberries with a hint of oak are what you can expect, but don't buy this to cellar.
