Interesting, and puzzling. I admit I was expecting California fruitiness but got something more earthy and cherry-tart. I can't fault it: The fruit is skillfully rendered and there's spice and Old World accent. I just can't find anything terribly outstanding or exciting.

See previous notes from 8/13. Still drinking really nicely; well-balanced with more noticeable blackberry and cherry notes on the palate this time. I also noticed that the palate far exceeded the nose in this bottle.

Haven't had a Scott Harvey wine that I haven't liked yet. Cherry and some spice & acidity, it's nicely balanced with a medium-plus finish. Represents the varietal very well, and would certainly buy again. Another excellent QPR from Scott Harvey! 88 pts.

Deep ruby with a brownish tint. Nose is woody, a bit raisiny. Some cherry flavors along with iron filings in a medium-tart package, It's not bright with fruit, rather it's earthy. Finishes with drying light tannins. Pleasant overall, decent QPR. The winemaker calls this an old world style Barbera; that is correct. Good for midweek drinking.

Immediately juicy and delicious. Light plum, touch of oak spice and vanilla. Nose is fairly closed, but hints of smoke and dark berry. Nicely balanced overall, good on its own or with food.

Not overly juicy nor overly oaky, just a good well-balanced Italian-style red with flavors of blackberries, cherries over the top of a nice earthy quality. Soft, lingering finish.

Nose of cherries, some floral, and a pleasant mustiness. Some alcohol on the nose too, but not an offensive amount. Pleasant nose. Wine enters silky smooth and is light to medium weight; ripe red fruit and acid oriented (getting a little citric acid vibe too that reminds me of kiwis and oranges); it has a 10+ sec finish that focuses on fruit and maybe a little bit of spice and acid. Very pleased overall. The rim of the wine bottle broke as an aside, hopefully this is an anomaly and not an issue with the lot.

No detailed notes. Bottle disappeared after a hard day of work. Great fruit and balance. Still prefer the reserve, but the mountain selection is ridiculous QPR. Amador Barbera is the real deal.

Earthy nose. Flavors of cherry and raspberry and a bit of red licorice. Slightly dry. Pleasant, with low tannins and a bit of acidity. A solid wine at a good price, but a bit lacking at the finish.

Smells and tastes of red cherries, semi dry, good wine. I am not that familiar with Barbera grapes but drinkable.Probably kicks butt with spaghetti and meatballs.

Took to Fred & Barb Beckers. We all drank it and all liked it. It was served with Fred's famous Pizza in the Green Egg.

Delicious. Nice balance of fruit, oak, tannin (minimal), leather, and spice. Great CA take on Barbera, but not as elegant as the white label version.

Baking spices, citrus notes, strawberry & cherry. Long citric acid finish that is unique and pleasurable. Relatively simple but well done.

A bigger bolder Barbera than others I've had. Nose was a bit musty, but the flavor was all fruit, very good.
