Ce vin est vraiment à son max ici. Complexe, fruits rouge et noir, épices, tabac, notes florales. Tannins fondus et pas de chauffe en finale. Un superbe vin en ce moment.

SLDS March 2016 #2: Spearmint, tomato, pepper, iron, pepper and meaty. Drying tannins, there is a lack of fruit showing through which makes the palate a bit tough going. Might just be in a bit of an awkward phase.

Darker ruby hue. Nose of red raspberry, beets, blood oranges, lavender, earth. Very savory and complex on the palate with layers of mulberry, red raspberry, beets again, stalks, iron flecks, schist, and iodine. Gives the impression of great intensity without weight. Driving acidity and stern tannins leading to a long finish of red fruit, brambles, earth, iron, and grip. Outstanding wine pushing the envelope even as an early adolescent.

Kooyong Estate Single Vineyard Pinot tasting (Cloudwine South Melbourne): Of the 2010 Single vineyard Kooyong Pinot Noirs, this is definitely the best this year. I think the vineyard is starting to come into its own now, and while I've always had a soft spot for the Ferrous, it has been eclipsed in the previous two vintages by other single vineyard releases. Not this year.
This has the darkest berry profile of this vintage's wines and there are Asian spices galore to work with the ripe and intense fruit. The palette structure is quite mineral driven with tart tannin texture, which I think means that this guy is going places. I won't be touching my stock for at least 4 to 5 years and I can see this going well into the 2020s.

The best Ferrous Kooyong have produced since the epic 2004. The best Mornington Pintos consistently come from this patch of dirt in my opinion. Cant wait to see it in 6 - 8 years....

Not our style. Big. Somewhat unstructured.

Pretty good, but drink now. Fruit still there but structure starting to dissipate.

beau pinot très nouveau monde. Fruité délicieux. Un peu gros avec finale légèrement métallique. À attendre

Dry and spicy, with complex flavours of red fruit and orange. There's a hint of rust, as the name implies. Punchy and powerful, with a short finish.
