This was simply lovely. To my palate, it’s drinking at peak at age 15. A little fuller bodied than the standard Schramsberg sparkling wines, yet showing a lot of elegance. It’s got a beautiful golden color and persistent tiny bubbles. Everyone loved it as our opener for Easter dinner.

The last wine of 2020 and the first of 2021, this is fantastic, opening and more expressive on day 2 (in a bouchon stopper to keep the magic in), notes of ripe crisp apple, bakers yeast, crust, and a long finish. Never getting tired of this. 96

A blend of Chardonnay (84%) and Pinot Noir (16%), mainly from Napa and Sonoma. 12,8% alcohol, 12 g/l dosage and 9,7 g/l acidity. Tasted blind.
Deep lemon-yellow color. Aromas of yaesty French bread, tart green apples, some lemony citrus tones, a little bit of sourdough bread and a savory hint of smoke. The wine is dry, crisp and wonderfully acid-driven on the palate with flavors of tart green apple, some lemony tones, a little bit of creaminess, light mineral notes of tangy salinity, an autolytic hint of brioche and a sweeter touch of ripe white peach, lifted by the dosage. Good sense of structure, thanks to the racy acidity and rich, silky, medium-long mousse. The finish is crisp and steely with medium-long flavors of tart green apples, some lemony citrus fruits, a little bit of pithy grapefruit, light leesy notes of yeast and a hint of bready autolysis.
A very fresh, precise and serious sparkling wine that shows so much more complexity than your run-of-the-mill California bubbly. However, this wine didn't come across as complex and impressive as the best Schramsberg sparklers (J. Schram 2000, for example) I've tasted, being more similar to a good NV Champagne or a middling vintage Champagne. Very enjoyable, but doesn't really deliver for the price (94,80€) - you can get more rewarding Champagnes for half the price.

I didn't take formal notes, but we had this last night for NYE and it was excellent. Pretty rich (strong flavors of cream, brioche, and lemon), but well balanced with a lot of life left.

In our cellar since April 2016. Chilled in ice bath - very cold and popped and poured immediately. Wonderful golden straw color with plentiful fine bubbles. Amazing fruit hits you immediately - apple dominates. Light yeast on the nose. Light toasty bread flavor. Some nuttiness at the end. Great acid - well balanced with the other aspects. This is an outstanding sparkling wine - among the best that I have had in the last couple of years including those from Champagne and many that were more expensive. 94-95 pts in my opinion. As a Schramsberg club member, I got this for $80 which is an absolute steal.

Flash note. A flash note is one that I distinctly remember the quality/overall rating of a wine but can’t give specifics because the tasting note was not written at time of tasting.
White showing better than rose these days. Crisp, biscuity. Very good. Well recommended

This is great. Crisp with nice citrus flavor but not tart at all. Just a touch of sweetness. Exceptionally well balanced. Not cheap but I think we'll be buying again...

Yes this is an insane score but this is an unbelievable wine. The acidity is stunning. Beautiful nuttiness and brioche. I'm sorry but this wine absolutely rivals Krug for me. I think this may be my favourite sparkling wine (including champagne) in the world. Will be buying a lot more. This is Schramsberg's top cuvée and if this was in champagne it would cost even more. I honestly think this is terrific value. Love it

Definitely delicious. A hazelnut, almost amaretto flavor is spread over a piece of sourdough in a way that is not heavy at all. A bit of acidity rounds this out nicely. That said, I think for $100+ I'd rather invest in a bottle of Agrapart.

Loved it. Totally agree with other tasting notes that this kills many champagnes - certainly the main houses. Really rich and complex. Great length. As well as toast and brioche I also got a delicious nutty flavour lingering in the mouth. Acidity in nice balance. Was perfect with sushi.

Green apple and tropical fruit are up front with a nice creamy, viscous mouthfeel and good acidity. Disgorged in 2015, it spent 8 years on its lees and developed a lovely autolytic character of pie crust and brioche. This is a sparkling wine which can rival anything from Champagne.

Winery tasting. An 86% Chardonnay, 14% Pinot Noir blend. Great consistency of style from vintage to vintage. Lots of effervescence and very tiny bubbles that cling to the glass and rise slowly. Very complex flavors and aromas with toast, citrus, brioche, and crisp apple. Wonderful rich, creamy mouthfeel and a long finish.

Winery tasting. From 86% chardonnay, the remainder pinot noir. Rich with lots of red fruit flavors prevailing (my notes say "thick.."), this had a texture and taste which surprised me very much for a blend that's predominantly chardonnay. Lovely offering, and based on the cepage I would have guess this to be switched withe '06 reserve tasted at the same time.
