Young yet very approachable and has a very nice freshness toit interlaced with good ripe fruit and well balanced oaky richness. Well round but with a firm core of acidity and given 1-2 years more this should blossom very nicely. Solid wine 91
Drank at Ned tasting opposite 2002, which I scored a 94. The older wine was a golden yellow color, the wine showed great intensity in the nose--lots of fruit, honey and perhaps some butter. On the palate, very intense, ripe fruit, caramel, honey and butterscotch. Some spice too. Great complexity, and nice long finish. Regrettably, my last bottle of this one but truly enjoyable. The 2002 was paler in color, more straw like, was a bit reticent on the nose, but opened as it sat in the glass revealing notes of butterscotch. The acidic was much more noticeable--no surprise there. This had some citrusy notes, grapefruit I think. This wine too was lovely on its own account, and hopefully will continue to evolve as did its predecessor.
Light yellow color. On the nose toast, hazelnuts, brioche, and the wine is very transparent. On the palate great concentration of grapefruit, toast, hazelnut, lime, bread and fresh green bell peppers. And it has a long finish. Overall the wine is fresh, but not lacking complexity and concentration. It has that lift - an airy feel that makes it more than a good burgundy. This simply has more. Last I tasted his Pucelles (Puligny) and these are great wines.
