This bottle is considerably better than previous openings. My last bottle was in 2015. The wine benefited from some air, but was drinking very well from the start and over the following three hours. Wondering nose of secondary notes of cedar, spice and forest. Medium length finish. Drinking well now and continue for some time.

Well resolved and the most seductive wine in a 1995 right bank flight, which included Gazin and Magdelaine. It has a sexy milk chocolate, mocha and caramel entry and a silky and caressing palate - it was like an aphrodisiac - you could almost hear Serge Gainsbourg on the organ and Jane Birkin whispering Je T’Aime in the background - it was a big hit with all the fellas around the table.

Litigators' Wine Dinner (East Treasure, Clarke Quay, Singapore): Lovely stuff, drinking well now. The nose was classic - a little musty at first, but that blew of quickly to reveal lovely drifts of cassis and plums, damp earth and cedar, all wreathed in a fragrant curl of tobacco smoke. Very, very nice. Lovely palate too. The hard tannins of 1995 had softened in thus bottle into a mellow, velvety structure, along with juicy, beautifully-integrated acidity weaving its way through deliciously pure flavours of cassis and sweet plums, damp forest floor, and then a lovely long tail of mineral, and peppery, woody spices. This showed the very best of the 1995 vintage, with all its clarity and transperancy, yet with any trace of astringency and hardness having softened into a mellow roundness. Absolutely lovely, and drinking very nicely now. Will probably be even better in a couple of years.

The wine has bricking at the miniscus and is showing its age in the bouquet and palate now. It is still drinking ok with lots of leather notes and thinned out tannin accompanying some fading fruit. Its medium bodied at best and I would get on and drink any remaining bottles soon. Some will say this wine is now over the hill but its still interesting how well it has born its 25 years.

Nice dark color; fully mature nose with dried plum, a hint of black currant, damp earth, cigar box, and herbs; even a hint of rose petal; palate is rounded and plush with still nice concentration and depth; with air the merlot notes become more prominent with plum, a hint of chocolate and floral notes; Still has plenty of life left if stored well

It is less vivacious than I remember. Very smooth. No hard tannins. Not particularly complex. But very pleasureable. Clearly, it makes no sense to wait for drinking it. It is on its way down.

Level into neck, perfect cork. Pale ruby with yellowish rim. Coffee bean, forest floor, herbaceous, blackberry, leather, smoky, hint of truffle. 13%abv, light to medium body, almost fully resolved tannins. Fair concentration and length, comfortable to drink. At peak/just past its peak, drink up.

Purchased six on release and have been trying over the years. This bottle is certainly improved over previous years. Nice secondary notes developing, cedar, spice, tobacco. Improved over time and was drinking well at 2 hours. Finish is medium in length, and improved slightly over time. Overall a good wine if not slightly faded.

Potentially, this wine merits 94 points. Three hours after opening: The nose is really great, ethereal, fruity, concentrated, smooth. In the mouth, it is long, superbly complex, with the tannins still noticeable. So much enjoyable..

Extremely closed on the nose at first. Took about 2 hours in the decanter to open even slightly. Revealed hints of graphite, leather, dark fruit and herbs. Palate matched and was smooth integrated. Great balance. Still young, but getting ready.

Wine is firing on all cylinders to my surprise. I thought that this wine would be spent, but to my surprise, very much alive and doing quite well. A rather faded, medium body, with heavy ambering taking effect in its color, with a ripe nose of cedar, and clay. The wine is fully mature, but tannins are still alive and in check. Rather dry in character and serious but very polished and elegant. A fantastic wine all the way around. Very impressed. If it had a longer finish, I would have scored 2 points higher. Loved it.

Nose of bark / straw / cherry elixir / latex paint. On the palate, good structure, moderate tannins. Stood up to food. Would have liked a bit of fruit on the palate but didn't get any. Disappointed vs expectations, unfortunately.

The average community score of 91.2 surprises me, perhaps this is related to the type of storage. I purchased this wine at the source and stored it in a environment controlled cellar.
The wine is very well balanced, aromatic on the nose at first and pretty complex on the palate. Some leather or earth on the nose and light oak. On the palate very enjoyable with hints of herbs. Taste is medium-bodied with complex structure and no tannins. The only issue is that I only have one more bottle.

Sitting smack bang in the middle of its drinking window. The fruit has receeded and the structure has melted leaving a beautifully balanced wine. Cab Franc elements peeking out (at least I assume there are Cab Franc grapes in there) with a slight green tinge that works beautifully against the pashmina soft tannins. Lingering, spicy and complex. Beautiful.

Decanted for about 2h before revealing its nature. Very slow to open. Seemengly aromatic on the nose at first, gradually changed revealling its original bordeaux structure. On the nose leather, earth but still good fruit notes, cedar and light oak. On the palate after two hours it is on the round side, very enjoyable with hints of tree bark, leather, horse stable, herbs, rose petals and undergrowth, with oaky assistance of coffee, lead pencil and cedarwood. Taste is medium-bodied with fresh acidity, quite prominent tannins and generous, complex flavours. Quite a long finish with lingering tannins. A true experience a 1995 pomerol like this. Wonderful and still improving while decanting, now almost 3h
Decanted for about 40 minutes. Helps. A lot better than expected and the wine is at the right time to be enjoyed. Good pomerol and with probably a decent % in cab sauv. On the nose it has secondarynotes , leather, earth but still good fruit notes, cedar and light oak. On the palate it is on the round side and although a touch on the light side at the mid palate it is very enjoyable and with decent depth. A few dry notes on the finish. Decent tannin and life but better drink this sooner than later. 90-92

Deep garnet, warm red rim, slight bricking. Multi-layered nose, almost fully mature, with tertiary aromas of tree bark, leather, horse stable, herbs, rose petals and undergrowth. Developed fruit aromas like currants and plums, with oaky assistance of coffee, lead pencil and cedarwood. Taste is medium-bodied with fresh acidity, quite prominent tannins and generous, complex flavours. Smooth and slightly viscous mouthfeel, and quite a long finish with lingering tannins. Drinking nicely now, but could probably go for another 3-5 years.

Striking aromatics; very fresh, high-toned and green - reminiscent of a Loire Cab Franc with intense herbal flavours and a touch of green pepper over cassis and dark fruits. Medium weight in the mouth, though a little austere with the fruit reticent and the greenness and acidity dominating, finishing long but tart.

Fabulous nose that grew in the decanter, some bell pepper while in the glass. A remarkable wine with the grilled lamb; why drink anything but good bordeaux with lamb chops? So tasty and deep, a fullfilling wine that was savored by all four of us. This seems to have peaked showing a soft finish, so I will be drinking the last 5 over the next two years.

Decanted for 1 hour and drank over 2 - nice rust/red color - not a lot of sediment thrown. Nose of earth mushrooms and berries - although somewhat restrained. Dinner with the folks on National Semifinal night: UNC vs Villanova
Served with roasted cauliflower, rib steaks and roasted potatoes. Sweet, seductive and feminine; this is a wine reaching its apex. Consume over the next five years as the fuse is shortening.
