Opened at L'Envol in HK. Slow-oxed for a short while before being served blind.
Was slightly muted upon first pour, but really came into its own with some air. Very fresh and precise, but didn't have some of the flinty, matchstick notes that you'd expect from a producer like Coche. Not flabby, but buttery and very well balanced, hence pointing to Meursault rather than CM or PM.
Guessed 2012 Meursault 1er from Lafon - a bit of a stab in the dark - and was very pleasantly surprised to see the purplish/blue wax of Arnaud Ente being revealed as we pulled this from the blind bag. What a treat and a real pleasure to drink. This got more and more buttery over time and as it warmed up a little - as J said, 'it's more buttery than the brioche!'.
In a wonderful spot right now, even though it can definitely age for a few more years at least and keep at this level. Thanks to M for sharing, as always!

Incroyable...

Light golden hue. Powerful tropical/buttery nose. Matchstick. Beautifully balanced apple and pear in mouth, good minerality and persistent length. Outstanding village Meursault. Definitely 1er cru level from pretty much anyone else.

Another killer bottle... just a fabulous example of white Burgundy. Everything I would hope for in a bottle. Beautiful nose with matchstick reduction, ripe apple and pear, floral and mineral notes. Perfectly judged acidity drives the energetic palate and keeps the wine taut and delicious. Really excellent.

This is the best Meursault I have tried to date. Just a beautiful wine. The nose shows hazelnut, marzipan, apple, white floral scents, mineral notes, a touch of lemon, ripe peach, and hints of spice. The palate has beautiful precision and energy with chiseled limestone notes wrapped in ripe stone fruit with just a touch of spice. The freshness of the wine combined with the lovely depth on the palate is really what I love about white Burgundy and this nails it. This was my first bottle from Ente and I will definitely be looking for more. From a bottle had at a local restaurant.

Meursault-smaking (Oslo): Svær nese! Smørfedme, flint, krydder og svakt blomster - meget intens. Rå konsentrasjon for nivået med nydelig nerve i friskheten. Presis og lineær. Meget lang mineralsk finish med skikkelig sting. 93p+

Notes of apple, green pear, toasted hazlenut, white flowers and lemon oil meld in an expressive bouquet that is tinged with a subtle and appealing Coche-like reduction. On the palate the level of concentration, minerality and brightness belies the wine's mid-weight volume. A terrific village level Meursault.

Plenty of smoky mineral reduction, plenty of oak, plenty of fruit. So dense and sappy. Great depth of heady orchard fruits. Voluminous and finishing with a little nuttiness. Perfect with bbq crayfish tails.

Really tight and backwards emitting but a whiff of matchstick at first. It breathes up to show notes of pure white peach, blossom and almond butter. It is dense and chewy with excellent depth and clarity. The back end is loaded with chalky dry extract and there's a gentle suggestion of floral spice once the wine is swallowed.

No formal notes, this was served along with ~15 other wines over the course of hours among a dozen of us. Truly spectacular, and many people's WOTN. Mouthwatering, zippy, delicious despite still showing quite primarily. Can the mind ever get over paying $100 for Meursault!? Certainly its classiness goes well beyond the plot label - a wine well worth seeking if within your price range!

Again, very nice wine. Less "tipicity" than the previous bottle - took an hour to open up. Very enjoyable Village.

Snyggt med fin balans mellan krispig citrussyra och rostat smöriga fattoner. Håller säkert ett tiotal år till. Men varför vänta?
