In the bouquet roasted nuts and oxidized impressions. On the palate nuts and oxidized impressions as well, limestone minerals, ok acidity and some length. I have friends who really like this, but for me personally this wine is past its prime. No score.

Wine Monopole Dinner (Chez Moi): Very light color. Not as fresh as I would like it. Hence it wasn't the acid I was looking for. It felt a little flat to me.

With grilled scallops in indian spices. beautiful fresh darkish yellow color bit subdued nose with nutty smells and some fruit. on the palate very pleasing, probably at plateau, maybe over it but still great to have aged this. it is fun to drink older stuff. Great combination, good elegance with no overbearing notes.

Another Wine Dinner at Merion (Merion GC, Ardmore, PA): Of the two bottles served, one was unfortunately flawed and therefore a great disappointment. Some at the table approved of the pairing with tuna tartar, but most wished for a better bottle.

Lynch Bages Vertical (Sweet and Savories): Initially I thought the nose on this was fabulous. Showing nice aromas of flowers, maple, melons ,nuts, and smoke. The palate and the finish was lacking and didn’t have the stuffing. After it sat in the glass for twenty minutes the nose showed more oxidation. I expected more.

Lynch Bages Vertical 1961-2005 (Sweets and Savories, Chicago IL): nose: slight oxodized tones with bits of almonds, lemons, lychees, minerals, tart citrus tones, and bits of melon rinds. Fully mature, but light on the color, this seemed a bit advanced for a bit considering how young the wine was
taste: good feel and much more together on the palate with lemons, almonds, minerals, vanilla extract, and tart citrus tones
overall: the feel is great while the nose isn't all there. Great flavors with nice balance along with medium/low acidity and a almond based attack with a vanilla extract finish

Dinner at Bonne Soiree with Steve & Barb. Mid yellow in color, this medium bodied white was waxy with notes of lanolin and a bunch of lemons. While it tasted good on it's own when poured it really had an extra dimension brought out with our appetizers, which were all goat cheese based ( a savory tart for 2 of us and a goat cheese souffle for the other 2 ). Medium plus length on the finish. A nice solid bottle of wine. Served a bit warmer than we normally would but the wine seemed happy at this temperature. 50+12+12+8+8=90

This is at once zingy and refined; strange as it may sound, it tastes to me like a limed Champagne without the bubbles. There's a definite citric breadiness and minerality here. It's medium-bodied -- heavier than the usual Sauvignon Blanc, I think. The finish ain't great, and the wine isn't profound, but it's got some stuffing and represents an excellent change of pace from some of the ho-hum California whites I've had lately. Something interesting to serve the in-laws, maybe.

Lynch Bage vs Pichon Lalande 1986, 1988, 1989, 1995 plus 3 Ringers: Nice refreshing wine with loads of subtle flavors - Almonds, citrus, mineral in a complex light on its feet package. Got bettter the longer it was open. Most when served blind, however, felt it was older then 2001.

A touch of oxidation but drinking very nicely. Light golden yellow with tastes of quince and wet stones.

Lynch Bages Vertical Focused on Parker 91+ Point Reds (Sweets and Savories. Fullerton near Ashland. Chicago. IL): Sight: light lemon color; medium viscosity
Nose: A clean nose that exudes a crisp feeling. Zest notes and mild oak notes. One of the more aromatic white Bordeaux I have tasted.
Palate: Citrus and melon notes.
Overall: This wine seemed like it was closed at the time of tasting. 87-88 points.
