Tasted alongside a 2013 Cascade Apricot. The Cantillon was much better: more complex, funkier, and showing more of its fruit than did the Cascade. Excellent beer, and this continues to be my favorite fruited lambic.

TASTE: very tart; apricot and orange juice and orange pith; apricot pie; some light brie-like funk on the finish; lactic and a little pukey on the finish, too; excellent, as always. As a fruited lambic: 9.5/10.

NOSE: strong aroma: smells like a fruity/edgy/light Saison; apricot aroma is noticeable, and pleasant.
BODY: hazy orange color; active carbonation produces a lacey white head; light to medium-light bodied.
TASTE: noticeable brett; citric acidity; very tart/sour; apricots, with a strong lemony undercurrent; 5% alc. not noticeable. 300g of Bergeron Apricots per liter were used in the production of this beer. As a fruited lambic: 10/10

I really wish these would hold up a little longer...the intensity of Apricot and nectarine that were so vivid the first time around really has faded significantly on only 2-3 months...As much as I love this...these really should be consumed as soon as possible to get that level of intensity and enjoyment. Still outstanding though...

Dinner with Doug & Becky; 1/20/2013-1/21/2013 (Waltham, MA): I drank my second bottle of this last night with Sushi. While I still love this beer, the intense Apricot scents were more subdued. I'm not sure if this was due to travel shock and a 120 mile car ride...but I found myself wondering if maybe this is a beer that I want to consume as soon as it's released instead of hanging onto it. The scents were there, but not nearly as intense as they were almost two months ago...the flavor was as lovely as ever...but again seemed a bit mute as well. Still an outstanding showing.
Zwanze Day (Novare Res: Portland, ME): Color: Hazy golden yellow with a hint of orange Smell: Candied apricot dominates with subtle floral notes in the background. Taste: Lemon, tangerine, and apricot Overall: Outstanding!!! Maybe my favorite Cantillon to-date. Wildly unique...and just a beautiful beer. I really wish this was easier to find.
