Lighter and airier in mouth feel but deep in complexity. A light vegetal and green pepper on initial taste opened into jammy ripe blue and red fruit and hints of pepper and spice box followed by a silky smooth finish of wet slate mineral and leather.

Punch of alcohol that still needs time to balance. Underlying bright, dark, tart fruit with floral notes, anise and rhubarb. Incredible structure with some sweet red fruits and spice. Needs time - Holding the remainder for 5+ years.
p.s. porterhouse leftovers

My last bottle of the 2010 OV and what a shame that is! Beautiful aromas of violets and fresh cut flowers with black cherries, plum, licorice and crushed rocks. On the palate, smooth tannins with an abundance of blackberry, black cherry and raspberry flavors. Light oak and a mineral-laced 20-second finish.

Bold aromas of dark fruit and violets. Flavors are complex supported by firm tannins. I tasted chocolate, black cherry and raspberry with an earthy minerality that gives substance to this fine wine.

Decanted for an hour, aromas of blackberry, plum, oak and crushed rocks followed by similar flavors with zesty tannins, chocolate and black cherry. This wine gets better with every glass. I will buy more as soon as I finish dinner.

I enjoyed this wine a lot. Complex, balanced, and full bodied. Some others suggested this could use a few more years in the bottle, not sure if I agree. (Didn't decant, maybe that would have helped?)

A big California cab based wine that is making an elegant transition into the secondary flavor components. Still has some primary dark fruit, but tannins are now in the background and acidity is nice and balanced. Pencil box, cassis and blackberry on the nose. Medium long finish. Just nothing wrong with this wine.

This wine has only gotten more complex and rich in the 17 months since I tasted it last (10/16 - 95 points). The power and intensity here are what is most impressive, as the wine shows no signs of letting up. It's an exceptional wine, especially at the price point (about $100).
This has the same dark red color and fullness in body as before, but the nose has added a bit more burnt wood, to go along with the graphite and blackberry. The tastes have fruit notes of black cherry and ripe raspberry, but the secondary characteristics are asserting themselves more now - mocha, chocolate shavings, rosemary, and baking spices. There is a dryness to the finish I didn't notice before, but the integration more than makes up for it. 14.9% alcohol. Blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 15% Petit Verdot, and 9% Merlot. Drink in next few years.
This is still a New World wine - ripe fruit, full body - but it's added a little Old World subtleness - integrated and dusty tannins, herbal notes. It's quite impressive, and it's quite good.

Silky full bodied with spice notes and gorgeous long drawn tannins. Decanted an hour and paired with a beautiful chateaubriand steak for Christmas Eve Dinner.

Graphite, incense and crushed rocks come to life in the glass. The 2010 is a structured, intense wine that is going to need another few years in the cellar

An amazingly rich and layered Cabernet that is drinking beautifully right now. Dark red, almost black, in color; full in body; nose of pencil shavings and blackberry. Tastes of black cherry, dark chocolate, rosemary, and cedar, with a finish that goes on and on. 14.9% alcohol. Blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 15% Petit Verdot, and 9% Merlot. Just a glorious wine, made by a producer that belongs in the league with Realm and others producing modern, dense, and elegant Napa reds.

Took a few hours to really open but then it unleashed the mild fruit and balanced wine that you would expect. Palette dark berry, mocha, and wood flavors finishes with licorice. Lingering flavors and very good on the finish. This is a meritage dominated by Cabernet Sauvingnon with Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot

Very well made wine with nice balance, texture, mouth feel and finish. Dry tannins, dark fruit, subtle nose. Very drinkable now, though I would like to see it 10 years from now.

Pop and poured with ripe jammy fruit up front and peppery finish. After hour open time much more delicate and prolonged tannins. Enjoyable now.
