Without reading the background here I never would have guessed this as a Sauv Blanc. Not a lot of nose, a bit sweet topical fruit. The flavor is a fruity, tropical flavor with a bit of sweetness and some bite of what I would say was under ripe fruit. Overall s good balance and some nice smooth and tart finish. a very nice drinking wine, by itself, with fish and with various cheeses. Could easily be an aperitif or light wine with dessert.
I look forward to how this develops over my next two bottles

First bottle of 2011 after cases of 2010. Unless this is a unique bottle, the 2011 vintage is definitely inferior to 2010. There is not nearly the minerality or complexity that I so much enjoyed in all vintages from 2008-2010. I hope the next bottle proves this wrong. Not that this was bad...it just was not as good.

TasteLive #Touraine: Setting the International Standard for Sauvignon Blanc (TasteLive.com): (13%) 100% Sauvignon Blanc – One of these kids is not like the other… Different texture, much heavier (thought maybe time on lees but later learn it spends 8 months aging in oak casks) with overripe peach and stone fruit flavors showing some nuttiness/oxidation around the edges. From there honey and floral notes emerge, along with balancing acidity, on a soft, lingering finish. This captures your attention for sure. That will be good news for some and not so much for others. Not what I was expecting from a Sauvignon Blanc but definitely unique which is worth extra points in my book…

Appealing nose of spring flowers, citrus and pears. In the mouth, the attack is of a broad, sweeping style, with concentrated notes of apples and Williams pears, rounded off by a touch of lemon and even a hint of lime. Powerful and rich, this is quite tiring to drink, so maybe not to everyone's taste.

Medium yellow. Nice mix of citrus and herb. Fairly broad and glyceral although not heavy. A bit of residual sugar but good acidity. Very good Sauvignon in a rounder and less mineral style.

Somewhat sweet with nice medium fruit flavors, medium middle of smooth citrus and a finish of slightly tart grapes

Not as crisp as the 2010, but still a great value. This bottle was better than priors. More floral and just the right amount of acidity.
