Medium ruby in appearance. Just a touch of lightening at the edge.
Fully evolved nose of red fruits , cherry liqueur (the signature note of this estate) licorice and some mineral elements. Just gorgeous on the nose and no sign of fatigue at age 10 or so.
Full bodied with medium acidity and plenty of structure to keep the wine fresh. Good flavor concentration and a medium plus to long finish. Just delicious and helped me deal with a tough Raiders loss....

Consistent with my prior note, this needed some air to show it's best. Dark red color. On nose, garrigue, glycerin, meat ,baking spice and dark fruit. On palate, baking spice, plum, black cherry.
Medium+ body, medium acids, low tannins and long finish. 91-92. Drink now to '21.

Medium red color. On nose, glycerin, sweet cherry, raspberry - slightly "dried" in profile. On palate, similar flavor profile with full body, medium acidity, sweet tannins and long finish.
Will drink remaining '11s in then next 2-3 years. I enjoyed this but it was more evolved than I had expected given age (probably vintage driven). 92+/-

We pnp'd at dinner. Mixed fruit on the nose. The palate was dark cherry, plum and mocha. Hints of coffee came out on the finish which was moderate to long.

Very tasty, but close to overripe - plush with a vague sweetness -nice, but I'll drink my other bottle sooner rather than later, as it is ripe, plush and up front, not a lot of underlying structure - nice dark plum and mocha flavours, just a little overdone for my taste, but definitely tasty.

Bright ruby color with yellow edge and clear. Aromas and flavors of raspberries and cherries. Spicy and liqorice. Very nice balance. Not special tannic. I think its peaking right now. It's a great QPR.

Bright ruby color, translucent, very pretty. Aromas and flavors of raspberries and cherries, wonderful fruit. Lacks structure a bit but a very pretty wine. I wonder what this might be like if left in the cellar for quite a few years. It is not very tannic so I am not sure how well it would age.

Agree with RUSTYRUDY'S note. In a very good place right now for consuming. I see the peak over the next 18 months. Drink up. I don't see it peaking five years from now, if fact it will be slipping down the back side.

Didn't take notes - paired with grilled chicken. Decanted for 3 hours - great fruit / acid / balance and very food friendly. Wife & family really enjoyed. Has improved from prior tasting(s) and this wine should age gracefully for 5+ years.
Dark red. Mineral, cedar, spice, and red fruited nose. Red delicious apple, tart raspberry, moderate intensity, dried cherry , moderate tannins, and a pleasant finish. Drinking well now. Soft tannins.

Great nose of light fruit cherry, strawberry, leather, cocoa, and mushroom. Medium bodied cherry, choc mid palate is tannic and veggie, but finish is flavorful pleasantly tart cherry

I remember the 2010 version being very dark in color when it was young with a full but undeveloped taste with no nose to speak of at that time. Given three years the wine transformed into a beauty. Now comes the 2011. Was my bottle not representative? The color was light and with a faint nose. Reminded me of the 2010 when young-except and what worries me-the light color of the wine reflected in the taste. If anyone else could indicate to me the color of this wine when opened it would be most appreciated. Wine was decanted four hours.

Beautiful Cote du Rhone. Strong tannins competing with the bright fruits and earthiness you expect from this region. This would probably benefit by laying down a bit longer.

This was a bit tight when I opened it, so I gave it about four hours in the decanter. Aromas and flavors of dark, spiced plums. Round and medium-weight in the mouth with fine-grained tannins. Went great with braised leg of lamb.
Less impressive this time around. The wine still showed great aromatics, and a wholly agreeable mouthfeel, but it came off very hot, to the point that it felt like exhaling fire. A great wine overall though!

Bought at domaine and enjoyed over two days. Fantastic Gigondas. Slightly more rustique and dark than Louisiane which is my favourite of the two. Still this is an excellent and well balanced wine. Will improve further over the next couple of years I believe.

Fun bottle to try alongside an 09 Theodoric. The Gig was heavier on all aspects. Big ripe cherries, peppered meat, spice, sweet dried herbs, and anise. Balanced out after a little air and had me wanting lamb with some sort of cherry sauce. Would like to try again in a few years.

Very regionally correct which I love. Nice open bouquet on the nose, red melted fruits, dry dessert air, mild sagebrush maybe some lavender. So seamless on the palate, easy drinking with seamless fruits, spices, fresh basil and sandy earth notes. Pretty wine that was so easy to drink and killer with Koren short ribs.
Open for business from the outset. A crushed flower petal medley springs from the bottle and jumps from the glass. Clearly made from the same vineyard parcels as the previous vintage of Les Souteyrades; it shows all the same aromatics and terroir elements. This is a softer, more refined, less flashy wine though; slightly more restrained yet every bit as sumptuous. Drank this over three days and it was as good on the third as the first. The Yin to the 2010 vintage's Yang.
The 2011 La Louisiane is even better.

Decanted for 30 minutes and then drank with beef chili. Dark red color. On nose, raspberry, red licorice & baking spice. Similar palate with silky, glycerin mouthfeel. Medium to full bodied but high acidity (low ph) provided balance and medium+ finish. 92-93 Excellent value and would buy again. Very fruit primary now but delicious.

Big and bold. Spice and red fruit on the palate. A bit hot on the tannin-aggressive finish. A few years laid down should settle that out. For $30-32 it's a great QPR find.

On a spicier and more masculine style than the other cuvees, this is full of smoked berries, with an unique multidimentional profile! Wow, St-Damien has here a great wine, rivaling the top CdP from the same vintage. 95+points!

Close to overripesness. Red cherries, herbs, some liqournotes. Think this wine needs to be drunk now I think. Not the complexness of the 2010’s.
