Sadly, three last bottles all in various stages of oxidation. Two past their best but drinkable (just). Other further gone. Shame. Very rare with this producer in my experience, but fair enough given age, appellation, and vintage I guess. Oh well, not indestructible!

Took a good 30+ minutes in the decanter to mellow the matchstick. After that, creamy lemon curd took over along with green apple, pear, nuts, and orange rind. Tart and crisp with a creamy mouthfeel. Had with fresh Steelhead topped with honey and pink peppercorn-lemon-thyme spice...one of the best pairings I've had in a long time.

(At RN-74 - San Francisco) Pale yellow color. White flower and melon nose really satisfies. Excelelnt young wine that is lithe but shows very good finishing depth. Flavors are pure and very balanced. Delicious now but will only get better with some age. Refined Saint Aubin. (90+)

Colour: Clear, straw yellow. Nose: A mix of fresh sliced white peach, pineapples and pear alongside some nuts, lemon zest and a creamy vanilla note. Needs a bit time to open up. Use big glasses. Palate: First impression is fruity but than the nice acidity kicks in and make the wine a very fresh experience. Love the salty minerality on the mid-palate. Good mouthfeel. Maybe a bit a lack of power in the end. Even though this is a pretty wine.

A perfect match with chicken and egg noodles drenched in a tarragon cream gravy. Matchstick blew off after 30 minutes to show a wine full of verve, creamy vanilla, tart apple, pear, apricot skins, nuts, and rich lemon. Thick but acidic. Nicely balanced with a medium plus finish. Going to seek out more from this producer!

Straw yellow, clear. Bread, some acidic yeast, then fleshy fruit (white peach, pear). On the palate some sweetness and roundness, but it's very fresh too. A little saline on the mid-palate. The finish is on pear and citrus, with a saline touch. Very enjoyable.

Rich, savoury, food-friendly, intense and very fine all at the same time. Not very complex or long but really delivers. We had this with dressed crab which worked well. You can find a Chassagne at the same price (or cheaper) but this St Aubin would be better.

The 2011 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Saint-Aubin Le Banc is bright medium (-) gold in colour with a nose of slight walnuts, baked pineapples, apricots, slight oak with an underlying nuttiness.
An entry of baked pineapples that progresses to zesty lime layered with a powerfully driven salinity. The salinity boasts of good purity here and strives from the mid-palate right through to the finish. There's an underlying minerality on the palate as well with a powerful finish of acidity (not too sure about the acidity, but would that be youth? or a 2011 vintage characteristic?)
Linear in style but very focused. A well-defined St. Aubin at a respectable price point indeed. There's a noticeable old oak perhaps on the mid-palate. Pretty nice wine, but young now and definitely has years ahead.

Was really impressed a couple weeks ago by some more exalted young PYCMs, so I decided to pick one of these up to test their entry level. And I was again definitely impressed! Sure, the complexity and subtle refinement are missing, but the depth, mouthfeel, and precision are all there. In my limited experience, this is by far the most impressed I've been by white Burg at this price point.

Clean and clear in glass, aromas of citrus and pear. Palate shows restrained but rich flavors of lemon-lime and pineapple, a touch of mandarin orange and mineral notes of granite and slate, a touch of salinity and bracing acidity that lead to a medium-length finish. A terrific example of this AOC, with many bottle years left to develop further.

The stone fruit is right down the line and the nose is full and juicy with the citrus elements actually a bit subdued and balanced. The palette is fleshy and precision-dry with a racy finish.

Light golden. Tastes of honeydew melon, caraway seed, Myers lemon, and peach. "Le Banc" adds up to something more than a daily drinker: as in, count your lucky stars, if you drink this daily. We all know Saint Aubin is the hidden price/value gem of the white wine world in Burgundy. This supports that thesis.

Burgundy 2012 Day 3: Visit to Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey (Chassagne-Montrachet, Burgundy): A great start to the tasting, this St. Aubin village really punched above its weight. It had a charming nose, with sweet lemons and ripe apple scents swathed in lots of white flowers. The palate was lithe and elegant, with luscious flavours of honey lemon, pink grapefruit and orange blossoms lent a clean, light-footed feel by the wines bright acidity. I thought this was perfectly balanced all the way into a lovely mineral finish. A superb village - as good as one could ask for in a humble St. Aubin. It will drink well young, but has the bones to develop nicely in the midterm as well.

Lovely- beautiful nose, difuse on the palate but gained a bit of weight and complexity over time.

Consistently excellent. Stony, vanilla smoke, and so much more. Enjoyed this with foie gras (torchon) at Local (Ramsey, NJ).

Pierre Yves Colin-Morey & Jean-Paul & Stephane Magnien Morey St Denis Burgundy tasting (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): This wine is as precise and linear as the more expensive 1er crus and in my mind, this one is the best value of the vintage.
The stone fruit is right down the line and the nose is full and juicy with the citrus elements actually a bit subdued and balanced. The palette is fleshy and precision-dry with a racy finish.
