Brought this big boy out for a pop and pour with some steak and lamb chops, asparagus, and marinated roasted peppers. On the pour, the nose was dark and generous. The inky dark purple color gave off blackberry, ripe plum, brambles, graphite and woodwork, and metallic undertones. On the palate, tart and black cherries, plum, berries. Flavorful and dry. Not a screaming winner, but definitely serviceable and interesting enough.

A Bordeaux blend that is very drinkable despite its age and price. No overly complex or complicated but sometimes that's nice right? Moderate tannins and a pleasant finish.

Delicious fruit at this price range, berry and a little non-descript spice with some oak. Will go well with any meal. Still great on the second day. 2009 seems like a good year for California Cab.

This Cabernet, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec blend is alluring and sophisticated; it is memorably lush with a tapestry of smooth tannins and succulent flavors of wild berries, plum and anise.

Very nice on the nose with heavy fruit tones. Initially round on the palate with a nice follow and finish. While it claims to be in the Bordeaux Medoc style, it is closer to a full bodied cabernet. It doesn't have the slight astringency of the Medoc.

Black fruit, cassis, and anise spice bouquet. Quiet at first, but gains depth and complexity. Blackberries and cherries, plums and licorice, cigar box and dark chocolate characteristics. Dry, mid-to-full bodied, and an espresso finish.

Thin bodied, but that was the only thing I didn't like. After breathing for an hour, nice nose with slight tobacco. Nice on the palate, not much acidity but clean dark cherry that lasted quite a bit. I will buy again

Thought this was just a very nice bottle for casual sipping. Medium color, pleasant nose. Quite a bit of dark fruit up front, a bit thin, but opened up nicely when allowed to breathe for an hour or two. Well balanced, clean finish. Not the kind of wine that makes you want to rush out and buy more, but a good value nonetheless.

Very good. For $16.99, a Sonoma pop n pour taste that rivals great Napa Cab blends. Very accessible including Wal Mart. Maybe Gigondas style on the nose, smooth on the front, currant back end and a little licorice. Will buy again and pair with grilled lamb lollipops!

Popped and decanted for about 30 minutes to let it rest. Not as deeply colored as I would expect a traditional cabernet to be had a slightly watery rim. On the nose black cherries and blackberries came at me first with hints of cedar and a bit of spice I couldn't quite put my finger on. on the palate dry with flavors of the dark fruits black cherry and currant came to mind at first and a bit of plum. Firm young tannins and a decent amount of acidity. Fair amount of alcohol gives it a decent body. A good everyday cabernet for the price. Would like to see how these fruits and notes from the oak evolve over the next two years. That is if I can hold on to a bottle that long.... More of an every day drinker acidity should pair well with lighter beef dishes... might do this with a seared fillet and a reduction of the same wine for a sauce, roasted potatoes with thyme and garlic, and some grilled asparagus with a splash of lemon.... Can you tell I haven't eaten in a bit!?!

Thought this was quite good. Fairly dark color. Oaky, jammy nose. Some oak on the palate as well, but dominated by luscious dark fruit. Smooth, fairly long finish. A bit on the light side, though, and fairly straightforward in style. Not complex or memorable, but a great bottle for casual quaffing. Good value, too. The cool-looking wire-mesh bottle is a plus. You won't go wrong with this one. For drinking now.

Dark fruit with spice and oak. A touch of carmel on the finish. Oak is a bit too obvious and the finish detracts. I haven't tried this for years; somehow I expected more. After keeping it for 3 days to see how it would evolve, the last third went down the sink.

Dark colour. Nose is oak and some dark fruit. The flavour is mainly oak extract. Will probably integrate and improve in a year or two, but it does not appeal to me today. $28 retail!! no thanks!

color: ruby/barnet nose: med intensity, plums and blackcurrants palate: dry, acid is med and smooth, tannin is med and smooth (well balanced) body medium, alc 13.5, finish med+
Style: Rich and well structured, the subtle nose of plums and black currants leads to a mouth filling (med+) palate with excellent structural backbone and rich, ripe black and purple fruit flavors. Long lingering finish. A wine that will pair well with steak, filet mignon.
