Out of the bottle it was a bit confused, but aerated and decanted for at least an hour which improved it. nose remained a bit muted, but light acidity is still there. a good food wine. paired well with sausage ragu and polenta. wouldn't hold out too much longer in drinking it.

Bought this because of press and hype about this VA Pinot Noir. While not a bad effort, this wine does not perform close to the $42 price point.
Sharp bitter cherry dominated on Day 1. On Day 3 the wine had softened considerably with notes of cherry, tea, and earth. Light bodied with a shorter finish.

Sweet blackberry aromas with hints of vanilla spice and crushed chalk. On the palate it was paradoxically light bodied and low in alcohol, while simultaneously feeling extracted/sweet in its dark pinot fruit profile. Semi-firm tannins frame the short-medium finish of tea, gravel, and tart dark berries. While easily drinkable, this is simply generic, therefore falls way below its price point. R&M 80

Ankida's efforts are admirable and this is a very drinkable Pinot Noir for Virginia; however for $38, it is an uninteresting wine.
