  • it was a lot better than the 3 other bottles I had. At $6, it was very inexpensive but even at that price, would never buy again. Not sure what the WA rating was all about

  • An excellent quality-price wine from Aragon (northwest of the province of Saragossa) with a varietal composition of 85 % Grenache, 10 % Tempranillo and 5 % Syrah. Dark cherry red color with violet shades and a fruit-driven bouquet of black currant, raspberry, kirsch liqueur and some floral tones. The palate reveals a medium to full-bodied wine, plenty of attractive red fruit components, with a good structure and harmonious tannins. Satisfying aftertaste. Made in a supple style for early drinking. Optimal enjoyment: now–2015.

  • Like others have said, I don't understand what made this 90 points. It wasn't outstanding, there was just nothing wrong with it.

  • just don't see what that high rating is all about

  • Cherry liqueur dominant on the nose, hints of cake spices and blue flowers hidden. Medium to full bodied, a typical grenache-dominant blend, good savoury grip on the end.

Functional at its price, however a Parker 90 rating implies a significant amount of excitement and complexity in a wine - this wine has neither. A barbecue-level red, I wouldn't recommend filling one's cellar with this based on the Parker review.

  • Nez et bouche sur le fruit. Tannins charnus. Finale assez longue. Bon rapport qualité prixé

  • I'm confused. According to Dan Murphy's (Australian Liquor Retailer), Robert Parker gives this wine 90 points and states it is the best wine value in the world. However, in Parker's review, the wine is called "Tinto," and in Dan Murphy's the wine is called "Seleccion." The Dan Murphy's wine also claims to be Grenache, Syrah and Tempranillo, but Parker states the wine is 85% Grenache and 15% Tempranillo. There are also different entries for both wines on Cellar Tracker, and the labels are different. And to make matters worse, the Seleccion wine I'm writing about has many different labels. Is this the same wine Parker wrote about, or is the Australian consumer being fleeced?

Aside from confusion and concern, the wine is a nice value for around $11AU. Cherry liqueur is the theme of this wine, dominating the aroma and flavor, but leaving a want of complexity. The mouth is focused and concentrated, though the finish is short. Purchased and consumed in Australia.

  • Reasonable concentration, but although it lacks the character of it's big brother Tres Picos, it is still a pretty good red wine given it's low pricepoint. Sure to appeal to New World red wine drinkers. Still not sure why Dan Murphys charge 140% more for the Tres Picos when it's only a few dollars more in other countries.

  • Garnet color with cherry liqueur and spice aromas. On the palate, it's medium-full bodied, with intense fruit that is offset by medium acidity and a smooth mouthfeel. It shows cherry, raspberry, spice and a kiss of dark roast coffee flavors. Blend of 85% Grenache (called Garnacha in Spain) and 15% Tempranillo. Fermented and aged in stainless steel. 14% alcohol

  • Lovely deep ruby/purple colour. The aroma is interesting and hard to pick: sort of a warm, heavy scent, not fruity or even floral, more perfumed and hot stones. The palate is excellent: full and soft leading to a pleasingly astringent finish. I just got a hit of some glorious floral flavours and it is going so well with these lamb chops. I like this sort of wine.

The Decant email says that RP gave this 90 points saying it was the best value dry red in the world. He described it as: "it's deep ruby/purple color is followed by classic aromas of kirsch liqueur intermixed with raspberries, loamy soil and flowers. This medium to full-bodied wine possesses remarkable depth, an expansive texture and wonderful freshness as well as purity."

  • Clean high intensity purple. Medium intensity nose, ripe red fruit, hints of blue flowers and some licorice. Dry, thin in the mouth, medium body, medium-low structure, medium-low tannins, medium acidity, balanced. Medium-low duration afertaste of medium-low intensity.
