26yo and drinks like it's 5yo. Bright fruit and acidity, subtle pyrazine, soft tannin. Didn't pick up any of the tertiary forest/mushroom/savory vibes that I love with old bottles of this wine. Need to give it some more time, I guess!

Softening now, with a texture that flows like an elegant dress and a welcoming palate that is clearly cab franc without leaning too heavily on its green pepper side. No need to decant and no reason to wait ... but I wouldn't expect that much change over the next five years. now-2024.

Exhibiting terrific complexity and grace, with nuanced dark fruit, spice, and a soupçon of bell pepper, supported by fine tannin and well-integrated acidity, it is exceptional now but with no sign of fading.

Nose: vegetables, musty wood Palate: green pepper, tomato, smoke, a little sharp acidty Finish: rounded finish that lingers with very fine tannin and red fruit and tomato Loads of AFWE
89-91 depending on palate.89 for me for enjoyment Objectively for me 89_90 score.

Delicious wine! Excellent balance of acidity and fruit with a bit of funky earthiness to accompany the flavors of bluish fruits and a hint of green stalk. Quite savory at this point and also very vibrant and fresh with a complex finish of herbs and minerals. At the Klane's 50th b-day party for Polly.

Woohoo. Fantastic complete wine. Poured from mag from Breton's cellar. Ideal cab franc. Such life, depth, and perfect poise between energetic freshness and secondary layers. What a treat.

Tar and leather on the nose, with some cherry and smoke in the middle, and some white pepper and dirt at the end. Leather and sour cherry on the palate, with smoke and pepper on the mid-palate, and a nice dirt finish.

Nice wine. Was surprisingly tannic. Drank straight from cellar and did not let it breath long enough. Should also wait a couple of yrs before opening the next one.

Still youthful on sight. Tight and tart on opening. Cellar temperature is too cool for drinking this baby. Fleshed out with a few hours of air, plus warming to room temperature. Appropriately herbal. Drinking very fine at the end.

Was quite acidic and a little closed at first. Opened some but didn't develop much depth like I hoped. The cork was in bad shape so that may have contributed.

Much more expressive (and animal) nose than the 99. Richer fruit as well, and less emphasis on stone and green flavors. Interestingly, a bit more alive than the younger Breton and it seemed to really hit its stride after a few days. I can't imagine that this wine was drastically different a few years after it's release.

interesting floral nose, and then some barnyardy aromas which reminds me of the cab franc style that I have had before. Medium to long finish, nice round fruit toward the middle to end of the taste. An interesting wine that I look foward to drinking over the next couple of days.

Not one of my better purchases, but finally an intact cork. Agree with the poor aftertaste.

Well, finally, a decent bottle with an intact cork. Let it warm and breath for about an hour first.

Dead. It hasn't improved in a year and no bottle variation- all bad.
Move on

Agree with SOTTO325- unpleasant after taste. I hope it was a bottle issue.

Rotten. Not corked. Nothing of the elegance that these older Breton wines deliver.
