No spritz with this on but stewed and tinned green veggies abound on the nose. Some nettles too. Palate in decent shape and vigorous but the stewed note remains offputting.

Much cleaner than the first bottle and no spritz here though some gas escaped on opening. Like a toned down version of younger vintage of itself - no bad thing at all.

1/6. Of course it's getting on, but I am not enjoying it;s trajectory on the basis on this bottle. Dominant tinned peas and overripe asparagus on the nose. Slightly stewed palate.

I have lots to comment about this wine. First of all, I made the mistake of initially serving it too cold. This wine has a fair amount of complexity, and several different tasting profiles. Served too cold, the acid is inhibited, served too warm the acid is almost over powering. No matter what, it is very crisp. It is totally New Zealand. Grassy, some cat pee. big acid, lots of grapefruit and gooseberry. Pretty viscous for a Sav Blanc. Once you get past the grapefruit seed acid on the finish, the rest is very clean with hints of apple pear and citrus.

Betörender, frischer Duft nach Jasmin und Limonen. Im Gaumen prickelnd mit einer herrlichen Mineralität. Der Wein ist eine Wucht! Vorsicht Suchtpotenzial!

I'm not a huge fan of New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs; most are too fruity for my taste. This wasn't over the top in the fruit department, but still left something to be desired. Fairly pale in color, light nose, lots of citrus and gooseberry flavors, backed by an extremely high acidity that I felt was just a little too much. The elements just didn't come together well. On the plus side, this is quite inexpensive, and if you are looking for something that is a bit less fruity that most Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs, you might like it.

- It's balanced with a light body. Bright texture with a long finish - Zingy gooseberry, green fruit and lime. Zippy acidity. Beautifully crisp. Needs to be served very cold, but an outstanding wine at that price, or even triple. Look no further for a house Sauvignon blanc. This is ridiculously good value. Summer in a bottle. With such crunching acidity, must be excellent with tomatoes and citric salad dressings. But there is enough sweetness to make this pleasurable on its own. Sometimes the wine industry should congratulate itself on its commercial wines, not scorn them. This frankly spanks most artisanal or organic products. Screw top. But do serve it very cold.

From 75cl screwcap. Very pale indeed. The reticent, slightly grassy nose gives no hint of the concentration and power of the entry. PAZAM!!! Knife edge acidity balances a massive mouth-full of ripe green gooseberry and ripe yellow grapefruit (the peaches noted by Richard Jennings on 16.05.2013 didn't make it into my bottle) which runs clear – super-clean spring-water clear – through to the slightly mouthpuckering, whistle-clean acidic finish. A suprising degree of resonant after-taste for a wine at this price-level. Real class, and a joy to drink right now. 91P

typical high quality Marlborough SB. clear transparency with a little pale yellow/green. grass and green capsicum dominating nose and palate, lighter sweet, balanced acidity. medium dry finish with light mineral, spicy and sweet. Like many other Marlborough SB, after one year aging, it's over the peak and quickly soften on aromas. However, it becomes milder, more elegant style at this moment. I think one year is just the best time to drink it. very impressed to its typicality and balance.

Clear pale straw hue. Dominant nose of pink guava, apricot and gooseberry. Lightly sweet on the initial, crisp and crunch acidity, slightly floral and pleasantly dry on the palate. Beautiful citrusy transition, leading to a tart medium length grapefruit finish.

From 75cl screwcap, two identical bottles tasted. The "bog standard" NZ SB tasted by a previous reviewer must have come from a different producer. Once you get past the cat pee on the nose, this is an unusually fat, rich, creamy specimen, with pure SB fruit and good length. Excellent value at around 14 EUR. I would buy again. 90P

For a bog standard Marlborough SB this isn't too bad. Quite well rounded and almost a little restrained although plenty of grassy notes. A little acid spike to finish. Has enough sensibility to drink well as a 2yr old.

Wow. The dial goes up to 11 on this one. Very camp MSB. Almost parodic in style. Very, very zingy, catty, tomato leafy and fruit in abundance. For me it's one to drink near freezing. For Mrs S, probably WOTY. The freshness saves it so will be drinking the other one young.
