Boston Wine & Poker, Brookline, NH: Tasted blind. Lightly burnished gold color. Some degree of oxidization, very rich, with a slight funk. Complex and intriguing. A few us guessed that this was a high-quality aged Vouvray. Wrong! I would, though, note, that it tasted a lot older than 2011

Thank you CT reviewers. I didn't think a California Chardonnay could last this long, and 2011 wasn't a great vintage to begin with. I purchased some 2011's years ago from some top chardonnay producers and they all tasted over the hill. But after reading the reviews below, I decided to take a chance and bought two at auction. I've never had a 2011 Aubert Chardonnay before. WOW!!! This shows no signs of slowing down. Classic Aubert nose and flavors. It's like this wine discovered the fountain of youth. I need to buy some more.

Beautiful golden yellow, drank with fruit and cheeses before dinner. Nice combination of apple and tropical fruits. Would drink up any remaining 2011s before they start to fade. Still drinking splendidly IMO

I guess I was lucky in the bottle draw ;-) This one was spectacular. Beautiful bouquet of stone fruit, coconut, brioche and good minerality. This full bodied wine seems sweet like a piña colada but it’s fully dry with no residual sugar. We fully enjoyed this beauty and I would give it another 5-10 years.

Had it in a blind tasting with wine enthusiast and traders. Common consensus was that the wine was result of poor winemaking. Highly oxidative in nature which is not a style Aubert is known for. Seeing the other reviews could mean that there is high bottle variation. The bottle was not necessarily flawed but definitely it was not a good one. Shame to have this experience from such a wonderful winery.

I think the best bottle of Aubert to this point. The nose is pretty with flowers and citrus. The wine is full and rich on the palate with enough acidity to keep it focused and fresh. Citrus, melon and peach are out front. Minerals are present creating a nic contrast with the fruit and give it it some focus. The oak is present but more in the sense of a spiciness. The finish is very long. This was very well done.

Terrific if slightly restrained nose with white flowers, cashews and citrus oil coming through. The palate is medium bodied and textured with layers of flavors of white peach, marmalade and nuts. This wine is nicely balanced with the new oak integrating nicely into the wine. It is in early maturity but can continue to age for I would guess at least five years.

Opened chilled and warmed up. Hay to light gold in color. This was heavily on the butterscotch side. Needed to warm up a bit. Showed some secondary/rounded notes that brought out the butterscotch comparison. Some toast as well. Not as much sweetness in this one. Solid, but not worth the tariff.

Jordan's Fine Wine Dinner (Boka - Chicago IL): Much more complex vs CIX in the next glass, even if more mature. Apple peach and earth with cooked spice notes. Very good weight and length. Drink up in the next few years.

Really outstanding wine, balanced and graceful...strides the line between new and old world profile - notes of lemon curd, pineapple, and a hint of fennel. The richness and power make it more new world, bit the grace and delineation remind one of Burgundy.

Rich gold color, a bit murky. Nose showing citrus, apricot, smoke. Palate of candied citrus, butterscotch, citrus, peaches, brioche. Rich and creamy texture. Secondary notes of creme brulee through the mid palate.
Really exceptional wine, in a great spot now. Fully mature (IMO), would drink over next 3 years.

Yellow color with a bouquet and flavor of butterscotch and brioche with wonderful depth and nuance with just a hint of unintegrated oak in the long finish. This is a WOW wine and another tribute to Aubert.

Delicious as usual. Needed some more time open. Great nose of toasted marshmallow, hazelnut, brioche. Some fullness and oakiness still characteristic of CA as opposed to Burgundy, but nice minerality. Excellent wine.

Yellow color with a bouquet and flavor of butterscotch and toasted brioche. Wonderful balance and nuance with a very long finish. Another exceptional Chardonnay from Aubert. If you want the pinnacle attained by this grape, look to California and not to Burgundy. You will pay less and get more. Hype does not drink well. Drunk at Canlis in Seattle with some memorable food.
No decant. Drank next to 11 Marcassin Chardonnay. Stylistically they are very similar. Typical murky color with big concentration and extraction. Tons of syrupy stone fruit, honey, burnt carmel, and toasted oak. A slight brined note hits on the nose and finish.

Proof positive that you can't drink these out of the gate, this showed the expected butterscotch but it was restrained and balanced with fruit and honeysuckle. Really lovely. I will probably hold my other 2011s for another year.

Pretty gold. Ripe peach, apricot, red apple, red pear nose. Elegant and refined with soft, well intergrated, butter and yeast to carry the ripe fruits. In a good spot now, long and lingering but graceful.

I liked this better the first night. That overly ripe pineapple note, with more oak, showed up the second evening. Still delicious, but maybe not as stellar as other Aubert chards.

Good blend of texture and exotic fruit. Mouth coating with a medium plus body. More interesting as it warmed to a light chill off room temperature. Creamy and slightly waxy in a good way. Stone fruit flavors and on the nose. Nice balance and long finish

It's been a while since I drank an Aubert chard. It's different now because the monotonous flavor of lime is gone and so is the cloudiness. The flavor now is a bit more complex featuring pineapple and lemon. It's very intense, very focused very fresh, very focused and the oak is in check. Far from a tropical fruit bomb despite the predominate flavors and clearly California impression.

Bright, translucent yellow. Floral and citrus aromatics with candied apple and pear on the palate. Midpalate has a gentle richness than melds nicely with mineral notes on the finish.

Golden color, rich tropical fruits. Fresh and in great form (not sure I agree with all the drink up comments, maybe that is bottle variation).
This is not my preferred style, just too big and sweet fruity. But it is very tasty for a few glasses and clearly well made, hence the score.
