Light copper orange in color, this has a peach/ orange /strawberry nose. Bright acidity and a little effervescent, Orange and lemon flavors with a tinge of strawberry.

Dinner in the Provinces - Act 2 (Chez Walker - Princeton, NJ): First two wines served as an aperitif for my gourmand guests. Drank this next to a Chateau Margui, very different styles of Rose and divided the group on preference. The AR was the more fruit forward of the two
Consistent with prior notes, crisp acidity, dry, strawberry/bright red fruits and citrus on the mid palate. Noticed some must on the finish. The wine finishes medium to short

Pulled straight from the fridge, popped and poured. Opens with loads of sour strawberry, lemons, green herb, and sea-spray. I love it. On the palate there's a huge dollop of acidity that supports a melange of lemon, strawberry, cherry, and raspberry. As the wine warmed up I also tasted herbs and cut grass. The balance is terrific and I kept wanting to pair this with chips and dip or some carnitas street tacos.

What an interesting rose! Started a little skunky so I decanted it and that really opened it up. Lovely, clear rose in color. I got melon with strawberry as the primary flavors but when it really opens up it is much more complex than that. Pleasant, long finish. A delightful rose and a great testament to Arnot Roberts for their wines are always interesting!

I gave this a quadruple splash decant at the cork pull. Strawberry and mineral aromas. Some cracked grain aromas, that make me think oak, but I highly doubt that's actually the case. Ashy on the palate. Subtle and easy. Even with the low ABV, you can feel just that peaking through just a touch. Strawberry cream finish. Day 2 this continues to get better even after the vigourous decant it got yesterday. really strawberry cream today. very pretty wine, the edges and ABV seem much more dialed into the mix today. Chalky orange zest and powdered pink flower on the palate. really smoking tonight.

This just has a little bit of everything that all adds up to a nice wine. A little strawberry, a little cherry, a little watermelon, a little rhubarb, a little floral, a little chalky, a little bitterness, a little funk, a little salinity, a little acidity, a little tannin. More than a little dry. Not too much of any one thing making it fairly balanced, though while I like it quite a bit I don't love it for some reason I can't quite place. Much better IMO as it warmed up a red serving temperature.

A California rosé of Touriga Nacional (80%) and Tinta Cao (20%) The wine delivers, with uncommon complexity on both the nose and the palate. Floral and vinous, this has that little extra something that sets it apart from the sea of summer rosés. Fabulous combination with an herbed chicken dish on a summer evening. Purchased from Domaine LA.

Is this the 2011? No, but then I think only Miguel Cabrera is capable of such excellence in back to back years. It is still an excellent Rosé, offering pretty, sweet red fruit, a lovely floral element and a little bit of chalky bite on the finish. It's delicious on its own or with sushi (last night's dinner), and a bottle disappears in short order. I was especially pleased to be drinking it in a more early fall temperatures where the wine was not chilled to within an inch of its life, thus gets to show more of what it has.

Lovely salmon orange in the glass, the bottle is clear, giving me a full view of a whole lot of large tartrate crystals at the bottom. The nose is a little challenged, but with hints of last year's vintage: rhubarb, watermelon rind, strawberries, and some nice florals. I'd like more on the nose, though. The palate, though, just doesn't live up to last year. It's decent, with some tannin, but also a little bitterness without balancing sweetness. The palate is relatively thin and the finish is not nearly as long as last year's stunning vintage. Personally, I think the tartrate has something to do with this. I know folks say that the crystals are flavorless and make no difference, but I have found that bottles with tartrate crystals always seem a little flat and lack some liveliness. I'll score it, but hope my next bottle is a little better....

Really gets started after its been open for an hour or so. Rides high to start, but then recedes into a nice white and pink mineral expression. Powdery dried flower. Light tart cherry and ashy mineral. Last sip is the best 2 hours in.

A convert. I gave the first bottle an 85, as I thought it was just too light and too low in acidity. It is unusual, which threw me off. This is basically a very light mid-weight wine that is all about flavor and texture. It is very good flavor and texture, though.

Consistent with previous note. Gorgeous glowing salmon color begging for a flute even in the absence of bubbles. Visible sediment again but did not bother to decant. Same/similar nose of strawberry, marshmallow and earth. Earthy strawberry and some graphite on the palate with decent acidity. Enjoyed in our home. 89-90 and a good value.

A-R Open House. Light pink. I smell marshmallows. It's not overpowering, but is rather attention-grabbing. The smell lingers. No introduced yeast here so it's not some selected strain. Red fruit and floral nose. Nice watermelon with almost an underripe red fruit (i guess what some people call crunchy) and citrus. A bit of acidity and zest. Could actually benefit from a bit more of minerality it wanted to be a truly great QPR performer, but a solid rose nonetheless and actually did better with more time/air. Moderate length. Actually a bit better on the warmer side. I'd give it another few months.

Pretty light pink color. Tart red fruits, underipe strawberry, some watermelon rind, and some nice minerality. Nice, fresh acidity. This was very nice, but at $22, unsure of the value here, as I'm not convinced its that much more enjoyable than a $12 rose from Provence.

Tasting notes consistent with "ONTHELEES". (obviously) Pale pink in color, tastes of strawberry, raspberry some minerality. Very surprised to see sediment in this, I did not expect that at all. Served this very cold and I was let down a bit at first, after this had some time to warm up (just a bit) it improved. Had this with Easter lunch, BBQ Chicken and Pork and it followed a Washington Dry Reisling that quite frankly, overshadowed it. Still quite good, but I was hoping for more. Iridescent salmon peach color; strawberry, earth and graphite on the nose with marshmallow notes on opening, silky strawberry and an earthy graphite mid palate, moderate acidity not apparent at all temperatures as noted by others. Moderately heavy sediment was a surprise suggesting decanting for the next bottle. Very reminiscent of a Sterling Cabernet Blanc we purchased at the vineyard in 1983. My wife enjoyed this more than I did.

A wine that I enjoyed and respected, but didn't actually like. Light and silky. An initial hit of acidity, but I really really wanted more. I would have loved this wine with more acidity or more weight, as I think it would be great either way. There are a lot of interesting flavors and textures here, but it's just so ... light.

Crisp and lean. Nice strawberry and watermelon nose. At cellar temp it was a touch creamy. Put it in an ice bucket and drank it chilled at dinner. Was wonderful at the cold temp. Not as much acidity as 2011, just clean crisp fruit. Had a final taste at room temp and it was a mess. Drink this chilled. The colder the better is my experience.

Unique wine, especially with the Touriga National varietal for Rose. I don't usually like Calif Rose, preferring Provencal for complexity and finish.
This is a nice wine (you have to like Rose - Valerie does not - still thinks of her parents in the 70s)...Served very cold, fresh and crisp.
Light salmon/pink color. Crisp strawberry/light red fruits. Earth on back palate, the creamy finish you get from French Rose shows up after its been open a while. This will be a big winner in the Summer.

UPS delivered my bottles today. Popped one alongside the last of my 2011 stash for comparison purposes. New vintage has a lighter hue than the older which is odd because it tastes "deeper." Tasted side by side, I intially preferred the 2011 -- it seemed to have more bouyancy and ethereality on the palate -- still with all that ineffable deliciousness that knocked me out last year. The 2012 had a broader, flatter mouthfeel which initially seemed a little disappointing, comparatively. The midpalate especially seemed ponderous and not as light on its feet. With food though, my preferences flipped. The 2012 had more substance paired with our simple food (potato leek soup) -- the midpalate had more weight and depth, while the older vintage seemed sweeter and its acidity somewhat meretricious. Looking forward to to trying more bottles as they evolve/settle into themselves....

A wine that I enjoyed and respected, but didn't actually like. Light and silky. An initial hit of acidity, but I really really wanted more. I would have loved this wine with more acidity or more weight, as I think it would be great either way. There are a lot of interesting flavors and textures here, but it's just so ... light.

Vibrant fruit, nice salmon color, slight watermelon, underripe strawberry, cherry, celery salt and a little jalapeño. Nice mouthfeel with a little unctuousness to counter the acidity.

Couldn't resist opening one of these to see how I felt about Arnot-Roberts as this was my firsat bottle from them. Very nice for a $22 bottle of wine, great balance of fruit and acid with a strawberry nose and palate. Crisp finish that is juicy good. Wish I had more than the two remianing bottles.

My wife and I really liked this wine. It's different - subtle with a hint of cherries. A nice change after drinking a lot of heavy reds lately. We will buy this again. GOOD.

Very tangy aromatics of cherry and cranberry. Lots of tart fruit; strawberry, cranberry and cherries. Subtle minerality throughout with nice acidity on the finish. Pretty good stuff.
