Elegancia, redondez.

  • Quite brownish color that suggests a fully mature wine.
Opens with smells of blood and iron. 2 hours in the decanter blew that away.
Some warm wood here and some leather. Silky smooth tannins and perfectly integrated oak.
Decent length. Went very well with bbq lamb.

  • Liquid velvet. Unusually pure for a LdH.

  • Drinking really well right now. Some sandlewood spices in the nose, with elegant acidity and very soft tannin. The fruit is in the red spectrum and rich but not at all heavy, with a lovely bottle sweetness. Excellent.

  • Surprisingly light and refreshing. Had it with spicy goat meat and tasted real good. Some cherry and tar on the nose. Very enjoyable.

  • Delicious. Light ruby-red. Complex deep nose showing red fruit, wet forest, tobacco, leather, dry flowers. Nice palate, more fruity here with an excelent acidity it has a long end. Drinking well now.

  • Brought by Jay Selman to our Mexican/Spanish tasting at the house. I thinnk for many it was the WOTN. Had a richness and elegance of fruit lacking in many of the other wines.

  • Had this with a suckling pig in Segovia. A first on both accounts. Incredible wine with richness and depth though a bit lighter than I expected. Nice fruit and good acid that cut through the rich meat of the 20 day old roasted milk fed suckling pig. I don't know which I liked more but they both went together so nicely. Look forward to having the wine by itself sometime!
