The wine has a medium yellow color to it. After being open for an hour or so it is not yet very expressive on the nose. But on the palate, it is a very lovely wine. The oak is restrained. It has notes of pear, some Asian spices, light butterscotch, maybe some grapefruit and lively acidity. It has a full mouthfeel and a creamy finish.
Medium yellow. Lovely, classic nose. Light to medium weight, very discrete oak, lactic and long. Beautiful pear fruit and spice filled finish. Very, very nice and clearly the class of this tasting. Much better than a year ago.
Cote de Beaune (SF Wine Trading Company): Medium yellow. Aromatics all oak and sulfur now. Lush entry, woody base. Caramel and citrus. Nice feel on entry, good acidity, but harsh, almost tannic finish. I don't care for the balance here.
