  • Lots of blackberry, plum and spice on both the nose and the palate. It also tastes of black olive, espresso, and earth. This bottle seems more lively and fresh than the one opened this past summer, and has less of the prune-like quality. Decent balance and not noticeably tart or hot, but also not that complex.

  • Nose of blackberries, prune, and spice, reminiscent of mulled wine. The first whiff raises concern that it's past its peak. However, its palate and balance are still working. Tastes like blackberries, plum, black licorice, quinine, and earth. Long finish of tasty black fruit.

High fruit, high acid, high alcohol, med tannin.

  • Deep red with strong optical density. Medium plus intensity and medium complexity on the nose, with strawberry, floral notes, and some soft clean earth. Nice acidity on the attack, with bright red berries (raspberry and strawberry) that transitions to a nice mid-palate of darker fruits and mildly spicy earth. After the lengthy and medium complexity mid-palate, the very mild tannins somewhat restrain the spicy earth flavours, and leave readily apparent alcohol in a fiery finish that swallows the fruit and spice quickly. Overall, a very nice wine- not super-complex, but quite delicious and easy drinking if you don't mind some alcohol burn. Good value.

  • A bit simple for a CNdP, more lika a good Cotes du Rhone, that said, it still has nice red berrie-profile, with good acidity and decent length. Not one for the long haul, but still a nice drink.
