Blind Tasting - 2010 Loire Chenin Blanc (Weygandt Wines - Washington, DC): Tasted Blind. Complex aromas of waxy citrus, pear, white pepper, and nutmeg. Rather energetic and interesting palate of crisp pear, mango, and salted nuts. The long finish features vivid tart green apple, fresh hay, and almonds. This is very good but feels young and has clear promise in the cellar. R&M90

The fruit here is off the hook, this is like Chenin on steroids. Lots of violet. Applesauce. Big, heavy, plush impact on the palate. Quite opulent. Boy, I'll bet Bob Parker would love this given the sensory overload attack. The acid level is only barely sufficient to cleanse the thick, RS fruit away. Be that as it may, this is a very impressive, opulent wine. Perfect alongside chicken salad, versatile I'd think given its persistency on the palate, and I think I'll be needing more.

Nose of honey, apple vinegar, some wool. First attack is very round, sweet then with a lot of material then goes out by waves lie an ebb and flow, to leave underneath the crisp acidity. Drank over couple days, and it was getting smoother and richer through time. It looks like it will be even better with more cellaring.

Absolutely explosive nose of ripe, crisp apples, vivid pear, cider spice, and lime zest. This has fantastic weight on the palate, and is bursting with detailed, fresh orchard fruits. This is simultaneously well structured, with lively balancing acidity and plenty of mineral drive through the citrus laden finish. A wonderful wine, and definitely one for the cellar. R&M92

Some oxidation in Feb. 2016. Still quite enjoyable for structure, "zing" on finish and balance. Almost Jura-like.

Bottle seemed off - seemed to have a whiff of volatile acidity along with some butterscotchy oxidation.
