Cloudy with only a trace of its glory days; this wine is falling apart. Drank at Bern's as the first wine of the night. It needs to be consumed with the first minute after opening because it cannot last any time in your wine glass.

Had two glasses of this last night at Bern’s for $13/glass!
It was magnificent. I’m just starting to explore the world of older wines, and I was very impressed by this one.
On the nose: dark fruit, cherry, fig and a hint of leather
Sipping: at first taste it was an explosion of sweet fruit with a strong and long lasting finish that stayed sweet. Lighter fruits than on the nose, strawberry, maybe a little bubblegum?
After 20-30 minutes it mellowed out drastically and was still great sipping, but the burst of flavors were gone. Easy drinking, muted cherry.

Still a great colour, but starting to fade. The nose is vegetal and animal with a little "funk." The palate is still remarkably fresh - still some berry fruit, lovely spice, good acidity and nice rounded finish.

Enjoyed this at Berns tonight. Remarkably fresh. Round red red berry fruit. Excellent balance
